  1. So is there a fixed price for this unit? My Pack is on its way out so its the right time for me to replace it and I like the look of what you are offering. Let me know asap please
  2. I had this problem and it was found to be a pin prick leak from the plastic y piece pipe. I replaced tis with an aftermarket alluminium one which was £35 on ebay and it solved problem. Plastic vag part was about £50. When get chance will post a pic of the part as its hard to explain where it is
  3. Hi All Really need some advice, still new to VR ownership and have to say think have bought a bad egg. Have only driven about 3 times and the rest of the time it just waits to be repaired at the garage. Any way it just failed the MOT on emisions. The garage have checked the Lambda sensor and also replaced the CAT but still no luck. Am a bit gutted they replaced the CAT already but any one any ideas on what it could be. Despite so far spending about £1500 on this car and never driving it I am going to persevere with her, something about the grin I get when driving her. Cheers all
  4. What spring and damper setup should I use? For good handling and comfort.
  5. It's a standard be at mo. I want good comfort and handling over how low can u go as it's my every day driver
  6. Hi all, want to lower car 20mm, without losing to much comfort. any suggestions on what to go for. Cheers JP
  7. Hi All Yet more questions. The steering on my VR mk3 appears to be quite weighty. Have checked power steering fluid and also belts and they are ok. Please help me with what it could be. Garage said it could be the rack, but this could be very pricey to fix. All ideas valued Cheers JP
  8. Just picked up and they have put Red stuff on instead of green at the front so we will see how it goes. As for the water leak turns out to be a plastic pipe that has a hairline crack. £62.00 from VW so have gone for a part of ebay that is machined from alloy so no more leaks. I love my VR can't wait for the next mods. Any suggestions on what to use to lower 20 mm? Cheers
  9. Started the upgrades. The car went in to fix water leak and garage noticed rear discs a bit shabby, so had new standard discs with EBC green stuff pads. They then said the fronts had not long left so I went for EBC drilled and Grooved discs with the green stuff pads. Are these ok on the VR I wont be heavily modding the car but brakes are important and I have used EBC in the past and found them to be good. What's a good Kit to lower the car 20 mm. Can't go lower due to speed bumps and don't want to lose to much comfort. Answers appreciated Cheers
  10. Hi guys. Strange request this one. My missus and I have won a trip to New Zealand and we really want to Hire a dub camper van for a week to do a bit of a tour. It has to be a V Dub as nothing else has the same feel. Have any of you ever done this and if so have you any ideas or contacts we could try. All help and ideas appreciated Ta JP
  11. Hi everyone. And so the problems start. Had a service done on the dub and had coolant changed. Noticed a slight leak on the right of engine which was it turned out the gasket on thermostat. Had it resealed but stil losing water and can't see from where. I know it's not the head gasket but any suggestions? Also does anyone know where I can get silicone hoses to replace the originals. Thanks JP
  12. Just picked my VR up from garage and rattle was down to exhaust being slightly out of alignment. They twisted it a bit and it's now ok. On the downside I need an exhaust soon as it's pretty rotted. Hope this helps
  13. Hi All. Am new to the world of VR power and would like some suggestions on sensible mods I can carry out. I use the car a lot on the Motorway so don't want an exhaust that will rattle my teeth. Whats a good induction kit and exhaust system? Also is it worth getting it chipped. I don't want to go to mad as car is completley standard at the mo and funds are also a bit tight as doing up the house. Cheers JP
