    I have scraped away the big bits of rust and am about to embrak on a fix. Please see pics for the latest rust photo and the equipment I bought to sort it out now. I could really do with some advice on how exactly I go about it. I have a fair idea but not completely sure. Thanks for any help.

    Hi there people. I own a '96 VR6 Highline in excellent condition apart from the rust on the driver door. I would like to have a go at repairing it myself but as I am a complete novice to bodywork repair, I thought I would come on here for some advice. My three questions are as follows:- 1. Is it possible for me to do this job myself. 2. What do I need to buy (Exact specs please, total newbie) 3. What do I need to do exactly? Many thanks in advance for any help offered.     How about this stuff:- FUCHS XTR SEMI SYNTHETIC 10W40 OIL 5L They have it in GSF (Which are around the corner from where I live) and it is £14 for 5ltrs.

    Thanks for the tip on the Synta Silver...where can I get some?My car has done only 2500 miles since the last service 4 months ago. My driving consists of a daily 3 mile each way trip, the odd 60 mile round trip every week or so and a bit more local driving at the weekend. It is a '96 Highline with 107250 on the clock.

    I had a service 6 months ago which included an oil and filter change. I checked the oil today and it is at the bottom of the 'safe' range. Would the Castrol High Mileage oil they sell in Wilkinsons be ok to top it up with?

    I have a VIBE Black Air active subwoofer and Infinity Speakers all round powered by a Kenwood Amp. On my Alpine 9770, there is a High Pass Filter...should this be on because I have a subwoofer, or off? Many thanks Mike

    I did say 90 ish 8-) When I press my hand against the corner of the window seal, it goes away but I can't drive like that!! It is deffo in the runners and goes all the way up, I have never had any issues with any of the windows.

    As I said in the subject, when ther car reaches about 90 ish, there is wind noise coming in at the top of the window. Is it just a case of replacing the window seal and if so, any idea of the cost of parts/labour. Many thanks for any help/advice. Mike

    I am currently with Admiral on a 10 month bonus accelerator which basically costs ther same per annum as my best other quotes at the time but gives me a years no claims two months quicker. I shall be at the 4 yrs no claims mark in a month or two. There are some caveats. I was done for drink driving 5 years ago, so I still need to declare this when purchasing insurance. (£732 last year in total) Will the preferred insurance companies on here for premium members not want to know because of the drink driving convition?     I need some speaker grilles for my 1996 VR6 Highline. I have aftermarket Infinity speakers in there. Could someone point me to where I can just get some generic black grilles. The originals don't seem to fit well with the speakers I have got. Thanks for any help offered.

    Had someone to rip out all the alarm immoby stuff, there was tons of it and it was a real bitch of a job. Now my airbag light is on as well!

    I know m8, frustratinng..the bloody thing just will not turn in the lock! Had a key cut from the dealership earlier and that didn't work either!

    No joy so far...got a replacement key from the main dealer but it didn't fit!! (They didn't charge me) No idea what to do next..car stuck in middle of town.

    Hi there fellow VR6 people. I have a problem. Got back from a meeting today and locked up the car as normal with the black rectangular alarm fob and went to a couple of shops and then went back to work. End of the day comes and I can't find my keys...anywhere. Checked back at the bookies, model shop and newsagents I had been to but no keys handed in. Checked Police Station...not handed in there. Any idea what I do now to get my car back? It is a 1996 VR6 Highline. I used to open it was a black rectangular fob with a round button on.     What would be the ideal tyre pressure for 205/40/17 tyres on my VR6 if I do mainly town driving and the occasional 50 mile motorway round trip once or twice a week? Regards and thanks for any advice. Mike

    Ok, thanks for the advice. My car isn't lowered or anything like that...just totally standard apart form the crazy stereo I installed 6 months ago!
