  1. Caused a bit of a stir over the past few days... This year's teaser video for Dubshed in Belfast Excuse the walk by the way.. :$ http://www.ilovebass.co.uk/article/186/dubshed-2012---the-teaser/
  2. I can also vouch for UM, I have been dealing with them on a regular basis for coming up on 5 years now. The products are second to none and because of the worldwide demand they are extremely busy producing and developing both software and hardware. There is only so much a small team can do in a day. All I will tell you is that whatever it is you're looking for, it's worth waiting for, there is no other company in the UK who will provide the correct products for your VR6.
  3. Drop UM an email to sales@unitedmotorsport.co.uk and I'm sure they will respond pretty quickly. C2 no longer operate in the UK and as far as I'm aware Gruven Parts are the ony other people that make them.
  4. What part doesn't fit or all of it?
  5. Does anyone know if a mk2 exhaust is a straight fit to a mk3? Anyone actually done it? Have a 3" stainless one sitting here that I was going to fire onto mine to tide me over in the meantime if it will fit until I have the time and funds to make a proper one. Looks pretty much the same and came off a mk2 VR6 turbo.
  6. Not a drop here in NI thankfully!
  7. ^^^ Not true, sure any turbo setup works in the same fashion unless you use a rising rate jobbie. Sounds like your timing maybe ok Mark. Did the pointer on the intermediate shaft point to 12.00 when you timed it up originally? Vagcom will work on OBD1 but you may need the 2x2 adapter. Can lend you mine if you need one. Never mind your poncey chrome fpr, just fire a 3 bar in and see if it works lol. Your 4 bar fpr could also be faulty. Check gauze filter on it and make sure the o-rings aren't nipped.
  8. Have you checked the timing Mark? If it was out a tooth it wouldn't be all that noticeable but would make the car dull and have potential over fuelling issues. Wiring for maf and lambda is ok? Need to get it on vagcom and see if your lambda is turning on and off and where the regulation is. You could swap out the 4 bar fpr for a 3 bar for now to see what difference that makes, easiest thing to try in the meantime. OBD2's ran 3bar fpr's, in case you didn't know.
  9. Yeah but you've got to think of it as much more than just getting no lift shift, it's the extra tuning capabilities primarily plus other potential add on's such as launch control and auto-blip
  10. Buy good hardware and software you get good results. Buy cheap and it will work crap. Fact! If you've spent all this money on buying good stuff in the past few months why skimp now? Fact is, if you do it as I suggested it leaves your setup a lot more tuneable. There is only so much can be done with chip tuning and don't forget it is now 20+ year old technology. You should be able to pick up a loom and ecu for under 200 quid, I suppose getting the loom made up and the software to suit could be the more expensive part though..
  11. An early AUE 4 motion/OBD2 VR6 hybrid loom and US 12v ECU can be used for these features, you can then tune it through the OBD port. That's the best way to do it and let UM tune it from there
  12. Entries are flying in peeps so get your entries in! Spaces are filling up fast!!
  13. Just realised I never put the flyer up for this on here! Oops! DUBSHED ENTRY FORM PLEASE NOTE, THIS IS FOR PEOPLE WHO WISH TO DISPLAY THEIR CAR INDOORS ONLY. Approx 70% of the cars attending the show are displayed OUTSIDE where there is a vast area for displaying show cars. Please click the link above for the 2012 Dubshed entry form. Make sure and fill in all the details, choosing your picture attachments carefully. Submit when completed. You will hear back from the Dubshed team in due course as to whether you have been successful in obtaining an indoor spot. See you guys at the show regardle
  14. Worth noting too that this head gasket came on European Sharan/Galaxy and Transporter too so not just US mk4 12v.
  15. Any head gaskets I've done in NA cars I've always replaced them with this with no issues. Just makes mre sense than a fibre one imo
  16. Nice cars fella, the Jetta a 12v or 24v? The kit you have on your Jetta is known as an R-line kit over here and is available from UK dealers. My mate has the same kit on hs Bora.
  17. It is indeed, the 034 one is very good. Well made and nice fitment. Find it here http://www.034motorsport.com/fuel-injection-solutions-fuel-pumps-fully-enclosed-fp34-044-fuel-surge-tank-p-21527.html and if you fancy one give me a shout
  18. ^^^^ Same here! My new setup will be using an 034 Motorsport FP34 swirl tank with 044 pump. Ive tried the Walbro, the external 044 and finally the in tank HRC. First two were noisy and the last one you had to keep minimum of 1/4 tank.
  19. Just check the intermediate shaft sproket is also lined up. Pointer should point straight up as in 12 o'clock.
  20. Just check the intermediate shaft sproket is also lined up. Pointer should point straight up as in 12 o'clock.
  21. Strange that you have no notch on the crank pulley, never seen one that doesn't! You can time it up using a dial guage in cylinder no. 1 if the engine was still in place but since youve yours out, line the chamfered tooth up on the crank sprocket at the rear of the engine (timing chain end) with the join in the bearing cap and block. Make sure the pointer on the intermediate shaft sprocket is lined up too. It shoud be pointing to 12.00.
  22. That's interesting, i needed a boost controller to get me 1 bar of boost pressure whilst using a 1 bar spring in the wastegate. Without it it only made 0.7bar. Never had to recirc apart to see but maybe that was at fault... I also ran mine with boost coming into the side of it after United Motorsport pointed it out to me that I had it the other way round.
  23. I'll be over from Ireland for this, always good fun but I always break stuff every time I go....
