  1. yep on a chain. seems a fair price if the body is straight enough and the engine runs well, theyre worth 2500 bare minimum t & t'd, a mate of mine just sold one for 3300, and you occasionally see them over 5000. its got nice miles on the clock aswell. definately worth a punt, especially if you can knock a couple of hundred quid off, providing it is fairly straight
  2. karmann badge is on all rado's as they designed and built them. storm was only special eds as far as im aware, for the uk market anyway, main differences that i can work out are leather, which can be an option on normal ones anyway, and bbs solitude 6 spoke alloys rather than the 5 spoke speedlines, oh, and a storm badge on the back
  3. Hmm, I've just bought a jetex system, and it was a great fit, and came with all parts needed to fit including reducers and sleeves, clamps etc, cheaper than the milltek too
  4. I've owned 3 Golf VR's and now run a Corrado VR6, and I have to say for pure grin factor and driving pleasure, the Corrado has the edge. What you need to bear in mind with regards to the build quality of the rado compared to golf, is that early rados were based on mk2 golfs so wouldnt necessarily but up to scratch against a mk3, but mine is a later one, rotary heater controls intead of sliders etc. Ok it looks a little more dated on the dash but not by much, and my car is an OBD2 2.9 so none of those OBD1 issues.   6. Hi folks, I've put a vr6 into my mk3 gti, now it wont start, so i got a vag-com thing off the internet, but now ive found out that it aint the full version and dont know what the codes mean. Could anyone shed some light on this? Any help on what the faults are and how to fix them is greatly appreciated. The ignition lights come on, the fuel pump primes, and I can hear some sort of electrical buzzing coming from the engine bay, but it just wont fire up. This is what the vag-com says...   7. the donor car has a lot of problems, such as hole in floorpan, knackered steering rack, dodgy brakes etc. but the engine is spot on, and what i paid for the car, was a lot less than i could buy just the block for, plus i can sell the interior for almost what i paid for the car
  8. hello all, lookin for some help and advice on an engine change. the car in question is a 95 'M' mk3 gti 8v and the donor car is a 97 'R' 2.8 VR6. i can probably physically change the engine and 'box, but dont know what else will need changing to make it all work. any help would be much appreciated guys
