I have a 1995 'M' reg vr6 and I'm now looking for a new gearbox anyone have one? will any other gearbox fit? ie, from a later date vr6? because I believe my engine is OBD1?

I just changed my clutch because I had the same noise! I thought it was the thrust bearing because i checked the slave cylinder and it was working....after replacing the clutch the noise persisted it turned out to b the clutch fork!!!

Ive just changed mine I have a obd1 engine and my drain plug is at the bottom and the filler is located on the front of the gearbox (bumper side) make sure the car is not jacked up when replacing the oil else you may put it too much or too little

I done mine last week, definately take the 3 bolts out from the lower ball joint it's soooo much easier

Hi ive just done replaced the clutch in my vr6 because the thrust bearing stated making a noise, I just used a sachs clutch and it works briliantly, replace the seal when the gearbox is out! unless you are adding alot of bhp via turbo etc stick to standard. I have brought a techniclutch in the past for my saxo and it bit so hard that it stalled the car unless I pulled away with 3,000 revs DO NOT BUY ONE!
