My 1996 OBD1 VR6 Highline is playing up recently. As of latte, its needed at least 2-3 turns on the key to get her started. But yesterday and today I noticed a loss of power whilst in 2-3 gear. Then today it started to play up when the Mrs was out in it, she thinks it was misfiring, however when I took her for a spin, everything seemed to be fine???? Any possibilities? Whatcha reakon?

Just looking atm. But I think my car may be producing a little to much smoke on start up in the mornings? It tends to bit a little smokey until the car has got to its normal running temperature? Is this normal? I was thinking about maybe replacing the spark plugs, and HT leads, and I think the exhaust is a bit iffy as I sweat its knocking a little bit!? What do you think? Tony

Got this off the bay for a cheap price. What was described as a scratch, turned out to be a paint dribble, so a quick polish up later and... MINTY MINT! Well chuffed!

Whats quicker, a standard vr6 or a standard GTi Turbo MK4?
-
Yeah safe, I thought that first number sounded familiar as I have some in my garage from when I had my polo.

Whats the paint code for the mulberry? lc9z is for the diamond black

Cheap like the budgie. Need a standard grill now to put my new badge on, might see if I can get rid of the wheels and get some solitudes.... It's weird how the purple highline wings seem to rust, yet on my 97 16v they were solid.

I think I prefer the plastic trims though....

HEHEHEH a higline front grill badge for £20 I couldn't say no. Although I am waiting for someone to get back to me about another one for £5, but I had to have one now.

Right, a few questions regarding my fat thirsty b!tch. Firstly what can I use to feed the leather, my father in law, has a black leather feader but my seats are purple, and want them to shine, what can I use to make them like new again? Secondly, whats the paint code, as I have noticed a bit of rust coming through on the rear arch, and want to treat them. Thirdly, I have picked up a highline front badge, YEAH well happy. £20 what a bargain. Anyhow is this going to fit my debadge grill? Or will I have to get another grill? Fourthly what wheels came as standard on these, if its any help mine

Agreed, any ideas?

I'd love to get 36.3 however it would also mean coasting and I want to at least get a smile on my face on the way to work!

Just got into work driving fairly sensibly, and on the second run on my 25min drive to work, I managed to get 32.8MPG, I am determined to get this up to 35MPH, just need to get used to the car. So whats yourslike? I was told by a few people I would struggle getting 25MPG so to be getting above 30MPG I am totally chuffed.

IIRC You wont be able to insure it under a classic policy if its your only car. Maybe if I insure it as a classic, as I have my 1972 Bug! Hummmmm. Could save some pennies. Whose best for classic these days: Footman James, Adrian Flux?
