  2. Hi does anyone know of any websites on how to polish alloy as i'm starting to polish my intake manifold and rocker cover to a mirror finish just would like to know how to do it properly and any tips and how to's. The other thing is that i'm tidying my engine bay up and need to know if i can extend the power steering pipe that goes to the bottle/reservior so that i can move it to less obvious place and also how can i hide the washer bottle and the last thing (i konw i'm askin a lot) is i keep seeimg vr6 engined golfs with a filler cap t-piece in the top water hose coming from the radiator al
  3. Hi i'm tryin to find a silicone hose for my mk3 vr, it's the one that comes off the top of the radiator and has a filling cap (with hole obviously) built in. I'm intending on removing my expansion tank to help tidy the engine bay. cheers for any help anyway.
  4. That does look good, thought about something similar for the time being but i think i might just get the recess filled 'n' smoothed then mirror ploish it. Just recieved a rocker cover off ebay today thats already been polished up at one time then the seller started to re-polish it so that'll look similar to yours. Another thing i want to rmove the expansion tank and fit an in-line filler neck junction and remove the battery, just wondering if any of you know where i get one from.
  5. i'm tryin to find some pictures of a dragon green mk3 vr6 3 dr with ONLY the plastic arches removed leaving the top of the bumpers in black plastic along wtih the rubbing strips along the side of the car. I don't won't the vr to look like a gti and don't like the full c/c look of the later mk3's in dragon green. any pics would be appriciated cheers.
  6. can anyone give me some advice on intake manifolds please. I'm lookin at buyin or gettin one made or doin something with the standard item but not sure wot to do,as in the the long term i'll be supercharging it. I've been lookin at the schrick and schimmel (obviously more suited to turbo'd engines but will be building a vr6t mk2 soon tho) items and also modifying my current o.e mani. I'm now baffled as wot would be best suited to my driving style and the fact the mk3 is being used as a daily driver. Plaese help, cheers
  7. I'm up for a stoke/staffs meet, wot's "btw" ?.
  8. will you have to get your arches rolled or does 7.5" wide wheels go on with out any clearence problems
  9. cheers, i thought that migt be the case, as a couple of my mates keep sayin get some bigger injectors but when reading through mags te only time i've seen people do it is when they ave a turbo or supercharger fitted
  10. thats one thing i've noticed with club gi forum they're a bit snotty and un helpful, i asked a simple technical question taht someone with little knowledge would ask and got a load of snotty remarks back and that was a question on my mk2 too.
  11. i'm not too sure about the mk2 only liking mk2 i had a mk2 and liked all vw's that goes for every one i know with a mk2 saying that they do own mk3's and corrado's etc....(thats most dubbers tho he he)
  12. If anyone reading lives in stok-on-trent have you noticed that if you drive a mk2 around you get nods, thumbs up and lights flashed at you you know the type of reaction you expect from fellow dubbers but if you drive a nice lookin mk3 vr6 then you genrally get f!*k all or scowlled at, there has only been 3 occasions since owning the vr where i've a good reaction and two of those were in ryhl by a mk1 and scirocco owner .
  13. Eh up there, i've just got a quick question for anyone listing (err well reading) I will soon be gettin a 6 branch some nice new cams and then a re-map/chip i would also like tryin some bigger injectors but not sure if it's worth it yet or wait untill i get in supercharged later this year. (I ain't got a lot of knowledge regarding engines and tuning, sorry if i sound a bit thick). cheers for te help
