Hi all I have a obd2 vr6 but with double chains as its on the cross over year or some shit .... Anyway I just got a new obd2 low mileage engine but this has the later single chain is this goin to be a problem with the spocket sensors etc??? my knackered double chain engine has the obd2 TB etc .. so is obd2. please help thanks Dean
before I start please forgive my lack of car understanding etc .... I am currently toying with the idea of charging my vr my only problem is the fact that its fwd and to my knowlage big power fwd just dont work or so I have been told. The fact that I cant really thing of any big power front wheel drive car ( above 230bhp) leads me to beleave that its not a good idea surely it will just understeer like a see you next tuesday? can someone with a high power vr please explain if and how they put the power down and handle etc as I really really love my car but if im going to get out handled everyti
thanks mate . The chains have not long be done on the obd1 block with a reciept to prove so should be good to go may have a quick look when the engines out to make sure. so really when I have to two blocks out side by side I have to make the good engine look like the knackered one ie: chain covers etc
I have the knackered lump (obd2) its still in the car the other engine (obd1) will also be in another car as im buying the whole thing tomorrow so im really hoping i can make this work surely I have all the parts as I will have the two complete cars. need asmuch info on this as I can get
my engine is knackered found another but it obd1 am I rite in thinking the block and head are the same and the obd2 bits ecu, mani etc will just bolt on ??
I have an obd2 engine that has bottom end problems I have found another vr6 but its obd1 will this drop my power down to 175bhp? or will it be ok as im using my ecu etc that is obd2? also will it all match up ok. what parts do I need to use from my obd2 to keep it at 185bhp?? thanks guys
yeah thats the answer i got. Im fairly syre the standard exhaust has had its day geuss this could be restricing it abit. rainy leicester ... yep I grew up in syston live in cornwall now just as rainy lol
what sort of general top end spedd do you guys get out of your vr's ? Cant seem to get mine over about 125 ish at around 5k rpm in 5th is that about right? seems abit low to me the car has got 18"s on it if that makes any effect just thought it would rev higher in 5th 4th will get around 120mph then 5th dont do alot to be honest. The car has full service history and 102k on the clock pulls hard and had a good go at a scooby today up along hill which was impressive in my book. Also i think the exhaust if knackered or atleast very worn out stantard one. any ideas??? thanks Dean
Had my car for a week or so now and other than the ugly 18" wheels that need changing what would you say my first steps should be to improve the car? are there any bits that are prone to wear? Im fairly sure the shocks need attention. any advice would be cool thanks. Dean
