i put a 2.9 inlet manifold on my obd1 but i fitted a 6 branch and de-cat pipe at the same time, i can notice the difference it revs out a lot quicker. there is a tread on here which shows you the differences between the 2.8 and 2.9 manifolds !

Knocking in engine bay - sending me mental!
vr6binks replied to Richard Andrews's topic in Engine Maintenance and Problems
ive got the same problem mate !! everytime i plant my foot down it will make a loud knock, i thought it was cos i put on a solid front engine mount but then i realised that my gearbox mount was shagged so i replaced it but i still got the knock so im gonna change the other rear mount next week and hopefully that will sort it ! -
cheers mate thats what i thought, but cos mine is a obd1 i also have a pipe on the out side of the bend will i have to keep that connected ?

hey guys i have got a load of polished alloy pipe so i thought i would make my own bonrath kit and fit my oil catch tank ! my vr6 is an obd1 and to fit the catch tank im pretty sure that the pipe from the rocker cover goes to the catch tank and then i block off the hole in ther air inlet where the pipe from the rocker used to go ?! is this how it fits on i want to make sure befor i start playing with things !!

well yesterday i fitted my 6 branch manifold, corrado inlet manifold and solid front engine mount, i can notice the difference between 3000 and redline it feels more powerfull and smoother through the revs. the only difference i can feel with the solid engine mount is that when i change down gears at speed it feels a little bit harsh but all in all im happy with the difference ! now i have gotta fit an oil catch tank and a powerboost valve, the boost valve has got a pressure gauge on it so should i set the boost valve pressure to the same as the FPR ?? cheers guys

hi all today i put my new 6 branch manifold on but do you have to put that little copper pipe thing shaped like an M onto the 6 branch and is it best to put the heat shield back on even if i have wrapped the 6 branch with exhaust wrap ? also i have got a corrado inlet manifold to fit but 1 of the allen-key bolts is totally rounded off and i cant seem to get my impact driver in there to get it off any ideas on how to remove it ? any help would be great so i can get the beast back up and running tomorrow !

Misfire please help (what else could it be)
vr6binks replied to Phat VR6's topic in Engine Maintenance and Problems
mate i had 2 mega missing problems on my old cavalier gsi one of them turned out to be tesco petrol which is apparently the worst grade of fuel you can buy ! and the other time was the engine temperature sensor which was broke and it was telling the ecu that the car was running hot(even when it was stone cold) so then the ecu was flooding the chambers with fuel to try and cool it down. but all it was doing was making the engine miss and backfire ! -
whoops wrong page ! hahaha

theres a sick video on you tube of that blue 4x4 twin turbo vr6, hes on the drag strip and lets the other car take off about 4 seconds befor him and he still spanks it ! its filmed from inside the car and that thing makes some crazy noises !

are 263 good to use on a n/a vr6 befor i charge it ? i emailed schimmel and asked how much the postage will be to the uk. also when i fit them will i have to get a re-map and do i use my old cam sprockets ?
-
i was looking at them on the schimmel performance website, but i wasnt sure it is a toss up between 263's and 268's ! and they are pretty cheap compaired to cams which i have brought in the past !
