Thanks Bungy, Should be mid 13's with the Nitrous and 14's without. Sold the black VR Adam to fund the Scirocco ready for racing. Still thinking about a 6 pot to go in the Scirocco when I am bored of the power I have.
-
Bit of a delayed update but the Scirocco is road legal now and I am having a heads up with my mate in his rado vr6 to see if the Scirocco I have built can challenge him. Should be good if I can stay somewhere near him although he has just dyno'd at 185 bhp which is good as he has a cylinder leaking, Definately have him with the NOS but that will not be on until the winter. Pics of recent times...

should be low 15's, with alot of practice and no rear bench you can get high 14's Ran mine at 15.89 but that was basically a highline with 17" rims and weighing 1.36t I miss that VR

Effect gain with 2.9 inlet and cams on a 2.8?
rusty dan replied to Danny Salling's topic in Engine Tuning
well, I think the 2.9 being 100cc more than the 2.8 is not going to give 16hp so I think the the TB and inlet manifold do a job to help breathing so I think thats where the increase helps. -
losing coolant through breather on header tank
rusty dan replied to rusty dan's topic in Engine Maintenance and Problems
swapped out the tank and cap... is there an o ring for the header tank as well as the cap? Another thread suggests Oil cooler? I am going to try and empty the coolant, re fill and run with the cap off for a while. Dont want to have to do the HG if I can fix it lol.. Is it a pig to do? -

losing coolant through breather on header tank
rusty dan replied to rusty dan's topic in Engine Maintenance and Problems
running normal which is weird, I can fill the water tank, drive for a few hours turn off and repeat for a day then perhaps the third day the coolant light will come on. I was puzzled for about a week then I saw it was leaking from under the black cover to the side of the tank. I have checked for air in the system and it appears ok as the car runs fine, fan cuts in and out too.. It gets me back to thinking about replacing the entire tank and cap cheers -
Peeps, Coolant has been dripping out of the header tank breather under the black cap that sits at the right of it. I recently replaced the header tank cap or a G&S one, not sure i this is just coincidential. The coolant will pump out in spurts after the engine has been running a short while above tick over. It seems to go through a headers worth in a few days. Looked about and people have said it might be the cap o ring seal not sitting properly on the tank. This is weird as my 2.0 8v has the same set up tank and does not leak with no o ring lol Others have said water pump but im just wo

the weight can only help being its for the drag car. Im thinking Auto so I dont miss 3rd which can happen even with the pro's in the class... The idea would be to put a shifter in place of whats there already so I am able to change gear at optimum torque rather than being lower down the range.. Cheers for the info, i might just do it yet!
-
Peeps, might be looking to an auto depending on reliability and what sort of power can be put through them. How many gears does the auto have? 3? Are they hardy or do they get a lot of problems? Cheers Rusty
