Ha ha you can try pete, I have a feeling I may be in line for some shiny engine bay products tho.. Which is also very good lol. On another note am I right in thinking there are loads of vw's in the game?

Which Sound Deadening, Dynamat, Other?

Thanks for the help guys, quite a few options here, will do some shopping online this eve and see what I come up with. -
Personally I would stay away from Q Drive parts... Very poor quality, Febi are good quality or from the dealers but expect to pay top end, never used lemforder parts so couldn't comment. This is a good site for parts below- http://www.vwspares.co.uk/g3suspension.php

As Pete says R32 ones, I also run these on mine, I would steer away from low cost replacement items as the quality wont be up to much as i learnt in the past and will end up replacing twice, pay a bit more and get the job right first time.

It seems just recently everybody is getting married and browsing around the internet the other day i found a photo of somebody using there mk3 as wedding cars and got me thinking what other vw/interesting wedding cars have you seen or used for the occasion? Das Ponto's 3.2 And the Long Road Home.

Welcome, What a great write up and roadtrip, Fantastic choice of engine by the way -
As mentioned above with me running a single lambda i had to buy a Bosch pre cat Lambda (black plug) from the mk5 R32 to enable this setup to run as it should. Anyway cutting a long story short the car was finished and mot'd 2 days before our local show the Cornwall VW Jamboree. Heres some pics taken from the show.

Ok so about time I added a few pics of the finished article, didn't document/photo everything as I got carried away getting it finished. Decided to try the Audi engine plaque as I thought it looked nicer than the vw v6 item...controversial I know but make your own mind up, I'm still undecided. Ended up purchasing the dub power decat pipe with single lambda boss and built in flexi to complement the dub power six branch (forgot to take pics). Then needed a suitable exhaust of at least 2.5" so decided on a Jetex 2.5" non resonated system which fitted a treat.

Take a look though my build thread on here mate, there's also another build thread on here by Absy, Theres quite a few different ways of doing things but physically it drops straight in on the mk3 mounts (worth upgrading) Stick with oem management so yes the ecu from the donor vehicle or a late v6 4motion would also work but would then need ecu work and de immobilising etc. Custom loom would need to be made and spliced into old vr6 loom to use the original fuse box. Have a look through the threads on here and if you need any further info then ask away.

Just a quick heads up, cheaper parts is always a bonus. http://www.eurocarparts.com/

I wasn't sure if you had to apply in just a single layer or double it up as its something I have never bothered doing before, do most have a sticky backing then I'm guessing? -
I was under the impression they are different as when going for big power on n/a 24v And turbo 24v I have seen some people swap back to the 12v crank to create an r30 instead of r32 etc, there's a lot more to it than that but I'm sure someone else may be able to help/comment more on this.

I have done a quick search and nothing really comes up on the internet, just for the mk1 and mk2. I'm trying to source a brand new black carpet for the interior. If anybody has any info or links on company's that do then get in touch,

I'd like to offer my help, contribute etc, help with events if you need anyone else

Hi all, Whilst my interior is out I had the idea last night to cover the key areas with sound deadening material before my new interior arrives, The ice setup in the car is pretty good quality focal install so thought I may as well back this up a bit. Has anybody any experience of this product? What is best? How much do I need? I know Dynamat is spoke of a lot but are there any alternatives which are just as good and where from? Thanks

Just set it on to record, glad I spotted this.
