  4. That exactly what i thought when i first heard it, Then after a bit of a house gathering friday night and several beers later the girls were doing the dance in the kitchen....actually quite like it now lol
  5. Hmmm wonder why that is? Has the quality dropped or something? really need to look into it then as need to get one ordered asap, Somebody said get a LUK one as they were also fitted to some from the factory.

  7. Need to order a Sachs clutch kit in the morning, Has anybody got any recomendations/cheapest retailers for these kits? My local TPS wont deal direct with the public but i have been online at AVS Car parts. There kit is £116.52 delivered which i thought was quite good, Anybody know of anywhere cheaper?, I do like to shop around 1st

Morning all, I have a question for a mate who i share my unit with, He drives a obd2 higline and has just purchased a polished manifold off ebay, Problem is its an obd1 and he called me last night saying it not fitting something to do with where it mounts to the throttle body maybe?? (Im yet to see at the moment) Am i correct in thinking it needs an adaptor plate or some sort of gasket made up? Any help/ideas apprecated, Thanks

Then the task of cleaning the chassis legs up, cutting any unwanted lugs from the bay that are no longer required, Removing the vw sealant and rubbing down prior to a spot of smoothing which should be starting very soon hopefully. Engine and gearbox as they stand at the moment, Just awaiting a new Sachs clutch kit so i can get the gearbox bolted up to the engine. Ordered a set of Powerflex subframe bushes which should be here tomorrow then once i get a new front engine mount and bracket i should be looking good for a trial fit in the coming weeks if it all goes to plan.   11. Ok so finally found my card reader so here is some updates and plenty of pics of what has been done the past week or so. Car stripped down with parts removed ready for engine removal Engine out, Manifolds,Downpipes, Exhaust, Engine to fusebox loom removed along with everything else to de clutter the engine bay. This is part of the obd1 engine to fusebox loom which will be sent away with the mk5 looms to be made into a custom plug and play loom. Then set to work of cleaning the many years of road grime from inside the engine bay and components, Quite happy with how well it cleaned up espec

  13. its just dirty but past cleaning thats for sure, im at the stage where i would rather replace wth a new item, May have to look into other vw reservoirs and see if it will fit then, any ideas which may be suitable?
  14. Morning guys, Can anybody help me with where I can purchase a new brake fluid reservoir from? My local dealer said there unavailable now, the only one I can find is in the u.s but differs from the uk version and I doubt it will fit, also tried gsf and eurocarparts with no luck :-(
  15. Has anybody on here removed there ABS system? Did you encounter any problems doing this apart from having to re route the brake pipes? Also how would I stand with the mot as I'm guessing because it isn't there there is nothing to be tested? Basically I'm in the process of shaving the engine bay as minimal as possible and the abs is the only grey area I'm struggling on if to keep or not, because of the engine being fitted my initial thoughts were to keep it but now im at the stage of smoothing I'm unsure. So if anyone has any suggestions or information on this please let me know, Cheers
  16. Engine now out this evening, Plans for tomorrow are remove dash to release the remainder of the original loom/fusebox, Pick up a new front engine bracket, Also need to look into new mounts, original or uprated solid versions im unsure yet.

  18. Had my last drive this evening up to the unit :-( Started stripping it down, front end off, coolant dropped, samco's off and to there new owner (in the same unit) All set for a full day on it tomorrow and have it ready for the engine to be removed hopefully.
  19. cheers i thought so too, alot easier than trying to clean the many years of crud on the 12v, looks even better now its painted. need to get some updated pics up.
