  1. Not too sure, but would guess if I understand right, after pressing the alarm button you can work the windows with the door switch for about 30 seconds? If that's case, can't be the door switch. Maybe it's purely a glitch with the alarm system? Have you got a key to disable the alarm? What happens if you do that? Andy
  2. The wheels I guess would have a small amount of toe-in but not sure how much? Wouldn't be masses of it Ref the rest, garage should be able to tell you, but worth checking steering arms, wishbones etc that nothing is bent, esp. if tracking already checked
  3. Found the how to again. http://forums.vwvortex.com/zerothread?id=3859031 What do you think? Its from the US but guess will be the same. Agree with the posts too that the guys sister looks pretty cute, if maybe a little young
  4. Strongbow, Guinness, Red wine, JD & Coke, Vodka, Port - sometimes I drink them separately too
  5. Looks really tidy and clean in silver, nice alloys, nice stance too - sits just right
  6. They'll want to know year, may be enough. Go VW, I bought one for my MK1 a while back, I think from GSF from memory and it cost more than from VW dealer. They're quite common parts as used across range of vehicles - think the MK1 switch is used on commercial vehicles too - maybe same for the MK3?
  7. Cant answer your question, but this was posted up the other day http://www.carbibles.com/tire_bible_pg2.html See page 2 about offset, may be some help? Andy
  8. You're not the only one dale, I find this too so you're not going mad. Doesn't spoil the enjoyment though
  9. Thanks for the tips chaps, sounds easy to disconnect but would like to keep so will have a bash, at least no MOT issues
  10. I got a rust free tailgate yesterday to replace mine, (Cheers Mark ) but one thing I didn't consider is this one doesn't have the 3rd brake light fitted and mine does. Do I just leave it off? It looks like it's bonded to the window. If yes, do I just tape over the wires - will it affect the other brake lights and will it fail the MOT if I do this - not sure if illegal if factory fitted??? Any help appreciated Cheers Andy
  11. Found a guide on tinternet recently but lost it now, think would be comfy to have MK4 arm rest in the front but has anyone done the mod here/recommend it? Cheers Andy
  12. Good point. On my mk1 noticed after an oil change temps were much lower - worth changing and not too pricey
  13. Look forward to seeing your progress
  14. How did you get the look on the inlet? Nice thread, good progress, like the make-shift garage!!
  15. Like the red, reckon this could look pretty stunning
  16. Yeah, looked like it's popped up - think may buy a new one if noise not totally gone
  17. ...if it helps anyone....? Sorted mine this evening; Took wheel off (disconnected battery but for some reason still worried air bag would go off in my face! ) Not much dirt/shavings of plastic but think main culprit of the noise is the brass horn contact sticking out I greased this after giving everything a wipe down, then greased my ring (pardon the expression!) on the back of the steering wheel Not been for a drive yet but turning wheel it's much better, not 100% - think would have to replace that brass contact as it's worn flat. Oh and air bag didn't go off which is a relief
