  1. I think ive found the leads, they are for the US MkIV VR6 12V GTI. The inlet does look different, like the UK 4motion, but according to US Mk3 VR6ers they do work and fit fine For the AFP engine code part no 1J0 998 031 Ive asked the local VW and they can get them but they have to be shipped from abroad, UK dont stock them. pics from a vortex guide to changing leads on US VR6 http://forums.vwvortex.com/showthread.php?1792683
  2. Since replacing my maf ive been watching the air mass readings and they are coming into line, which is nice, getting a peak reading right where it should be. For this i jumped into the measuring blocks and found one that gives me real time g/s readings, but now im trying to find the fuel trim readings, according to rosstechs help docs it should be group 032 but this comes up as N/A on my car. It said in the help doc that the trims should be percentage readings, i found one that has percentage readings, cant remember which group, maybe somewhere around 15 or 16, but they were all labelled as L
  3. saw these and had to rush out and get my own monorail cat
  4. Hes in the members rides section in this site, from when he bought the car to present
  5. As always the day after youve toiled away for hours making your car look the best it can, it rains. But it gives me good chance to evaluate the products with regard to water repellency, beading. The wax gives by far the best beading, which to me says it has the best weather protection. Beading rule of thumb the smaller, taller and tighter the beading the better the protection. Menerna - is water repellant and still beads the water away But Dodo Juice is the next level as you would expect from a carnuaba Thats some good beading
  6. they are fairly easy to take to bits to find out whats wrong, if the reel was binding you wouldnt hear the motor, the cable could be knotted up inside the reel. They are a sight harder to put back together by yourself
  7. there was me thinking its just because theyre a bunch of power tripping c*nts suspended from driving duties??? they want sacking!
  8. well thats the hardest ive laughed today!!
  9. the exhaust runs directly underneath it, they can get warm, the gearbox is bolted on the side of the engine, you wouldnt feel heat from that.
  10. the lads gonna be able to rinse the police for that, even if he was arrested for DUI, surely thats car theft and criminal damage
  11. Ive been experimenting with different products for a while trying to find which i like best for my car, 3 areas are my focus, application, durability and visual result. I started off with Chemical guys Jetseal109 but found it doesnt last very long at all, a few weeks and it had all but disappeared. Its very easy to apply but can be tricky to get off, the result was a typical synthetic sealant sterility, where the finish is very high contrast but flat and colours not necessarily reflected with much vibrance. The flake more or less disappears too leaving just a very dark black it looked almost l
  12. BMW 1 series for me with a skoda octavia aero rear wiper in it, the only pain is having to dismantle the blade and fit the 1 series connector on, that said its easy to do
  13. Ive seen pics of 4motion engines and they have loops on the leads to enable you to easily pull them off the plugs, having used the plug removal tool (shIte!!) i wanted to know if you can just replace the leads with these ones to make life easier cheers
  14. Install was as painless as it looked, looks very OEM, it even fits into the original clips for the piping. Time will tell if its worked.
  15. my gf actually wants to watch it, asked me when it was coming out
  16. the length of the lead doesnt really matter, its the quality of the lead and the transmission of the spark thats important, you might have duff leads. Gen VW leads are better than any aftermarket even expensive ones
  17. dont quite get you, if they are all connected from the correct cylinder to the correct number on the coilpack then they will be right, as the leads are specific length to reach the specific plug
  18. whatever you do, fix the plate back on or get a new one, seam weld it up well or itll just happen again
  19. it goes 1-3-5 [][][]coilpack 2-4-6 if you ordered them wrong youd know about it!
  20. you could try the old put a brick on the brake pedal and leave it for a few days to see if any bubbles disperse trick. or go to a gravel area and slam the brakes on a few times so abs kicks in, this will cycle the abs valves, but is far less of an exact method
