  2. no doubt the vr6 feels faster, id do 80 in my a3 and it felt like nothing, in the vr6 80 actually feels fast
  3. you need to make sure the bolts are tightened to specification as too tight and theyll bind up
  4. the difference is that fluid is correct and the others are wrong
  5. power steering has to be VW spec G000200 you cannot use any other fluid or atf in them. Pentosin makes this for VW and you can get pentosins own branded version of this which is also synthetic opposed to VW spec mineral oil. comma also make compatible fluid called CHF 11S, but i wouldnt even put comma screenwash in my car. Power Steering Fluid Capacity max 0.8L theres another one, screenwash, capacity 4L :-)
  6. vw does state that you should only use g000200 and not normal power steering fluid or atf fluid. Im going to be replacing my pas fluid and will be using pentosin CHF11S, it is G000200 as they make it for VW but branded themselves its cheaper than VW for the exact same fluid, they are the only company that will sell you the exact spec fluid you need outside of vw
  7. i always thought he was referring to his chart position lol pixxxxxxxxxxx
  8. yea they sound like morettes, they use 4 H4 bulbs and the outside light does have 3 brightness settings, but the inner lights should come on full too on high beam, and the connector block doesnt give you an idea of what goes where, cornishvr6 had this same problem when wiring up morettes, get a multimeter on the connectros to find out what wire gets power at what setting then you can try to wire them up to the connectors in the right order
  9. yea they arent popular, think its cos its a popular brake pad bolt size, so they can charge £4 for one allen key. i got a draper brake pad tool from A1 motor store, its just a 7mm allen key with a nice rubber handle on it so you can get a good purchase when tightening/loosening
  10. lol the dog would have a hell of a headache

  12. cos its an old diesel estate it looks so much better than normal
  13. some have the programmable wiper some dont, but its just a timer relay so if it doesnt you can buy the relay from vw
  14. if you push it back and forth in a certain sequence while flooring the throttle with the clutch fully depressed you get launch control
  15. cant remember but i think a full set with bearings is about 40 quid, gen vw, dont get cheap sh!te
  16. if you havent done it recently get yourself a full set of vw top mount bushes and bearings, always best to start from new with suspension, as if they arent recently new theyll have worn. as for fitting its all nuts and bolts easy stuff, the fronts have the top bolt and 2 bolts at the bottom, undo the top bolt first its easier that way, youll need either a big spanner or a special top mount wrench cos you have to counter hold the threaded post to stop it spinning with the nut. Once youve got the shock off fitting is the reverse of removal, youll have to get them cambered up properly. the rears
  17. Fuse position 13 15A Relay position 11
  18. you must have to pass an 'im a prick who thinks the sun shines out of my arse' test to get a bmw cos thats all they are driven by. I drove a mates 123d m sport when i was deciding what to get next and he was like oh you cant not try the car just cos you dont like the badge this is the top diesel 1 series its got 210bhp, it was sh!te, the slowest 210bhp car ive ever driven, didnt even feel the torque, got a 170 diesel A3 instead and that thing was so much faster, gave you neck ache
  19. that was like some grand theft auto crash!! looks like an 80s corvette, never a good car to have an accident in no matter how slight, being 100% fibreglass
  20. you dont give peole much chance at midday in UK when everyones at work do you :S
  21. It could be the fuse, the relay, the button, the horn itself. You can check the horns easy enough, take them off and with 2 short lengths of wire touch the battery terminals, if you shit yourself that means they work, the fuse and relay you can replace and the button you can test with a multimeter, touch both ends of the buttons terminals and press the button down, you would go from no reading to getting a reading. Thats the first things you would test to try and track your problem. If you havent got a multimeter i made a little broken cicuit out of a buzzer an AA battery and wires, if you tou
