  1. BMC CDA 85-150 is the preferred weapon of choice for this engine is the golf 4 vr6 the GTI vr6 in canada? if so searching golf gti on k&n only gives the 1.8t, if you search normal golf then 2.8 it gives some that will fit, so long as the engine layouts are the same, you can download the installation instructions so you could see if it would fit?
  2. or get a universal one and this http://www.maplin.co.uk/Module.aspx?ModuleNo=1051
  3. would this be the case even though vagcom never gives faults?
  4. i edited my post with the t piece you would need if you had it already
  5. i couldnt get anywhere further with this problem, so ive forked out for the bentley manual, it lists like 4 things i can try so ill have to try them and see if it solves the problem
  6. do you have the relevant vdo sender already? if not you can get a twin terminal sender, it neatens up the install. http://www.merlinmotorsport.co.uk/p13866/T-PIECE-M10-X-1/product_info.html this is what you need if you already have everything
  7. the connector looks the same as the OE one on mk3, easiest way to see on your car is take the plastic trim off the back of the headlining at the top of the boot and drop the headlining and have a look, i think theres 2 different kinds depending on the model radio your car originally had.
  8. Here is everything i have already found out, going into a bit of detail about the different oils. yea ive already spoken to tim at opie, and he suggested either 70w80 or 75w90, so that doesnt clear anything up. VWs original spec was for a 75w90 mineral oil which has viscoisities at various temperatures very similar to redline mtl, which is a 70w80 synthetic but much the same characteristics as the mineral vw stuff original to this box (which vw dont make any more) but then this VW reccomendation was changed to a newer much thinner synthetic. G52. Then G60. Then G70. each time becoming a little
  9. depends on the fitting underneath, mk3 has a 15mm square hole. i used this one http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/12V-AERO-SHARK-FIN-CAR-ANTENNA-AERIAL-BLACK-811413-/200434703488?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM had to put a different end on the cable but was easy as pie and i think looks bit better as its a smoother fin
  10. you should be able to just remove the ashtray and access the bolts, depends if youve got ratchet spanners or not. if not you can get a bigger throw by removing the whole handbrake surround, disengage and try to make the little bar level so it pulls uniformly
  11. 1% is better than 0%, agree, if you want more money get more qualified or get another job
  12. As im having issues with shifting on occasion im going to replace my gearbox oil, there seems to be many different oils you can get, varying weights and viscosities, that would all come under being suitable. So im asking what people are running and how they find it in an effort to try and decide what best to put in mine cheers
  13. Those wheels sure give you car an air of HF integrale about it. You going full sleeper with all the poverty spec trim?
  14. get a multimeter on them and see which wires power up when you switch the various lights on, then following back from the bulbs feed each wire to the corresponding connector
  15. could have been as simple as the handbrake switch, could have been that your pads are very low, could be that your system has developed a leak, either a connection or a seal or your master cylinder. if it doesnt come on again then fine, if it does and its your fluid level again get it looked at
  16. i saw a nice colour today that a mate has sprayed his wheels to go on a burgundy ish saab, its a saab colour called rose quartz, dark silver with a pinky red tint on it, ever so subtle but looked good with the car colour
  17. not great but gives you the idea i think they def look better colour coded personally

  19. yours is OBD1 isnt it? it would have different light connectors
  20. yea please its something i want but wanted to know how it all works, is it easy to fit etc?
  21. youd have to be pretty stubborn to scrap a car that looked like it would drive out of there cos someone ripped the seats lol
  22. dodgy seats or the fact that someone vandalised them?
