  2. yea ive got 2 waiting to go on ill have a look at the part no today
  3. the threaded bodies and collars sieze up, by their nature if you are at the very top or bottom coilovers get hard, the middle is usually far more compliant
  4. when i was getting mine a lot of results came up that they cease up quickly. if you are after "around" 500 and dont mind goign a bit higher id recommend the KWs, if i had the cash at the time id have gone for them. do a search on them, nothing but praise. The reason i went for APs was 1. because they were in the right bracket and 2. they are made by KW
  5. TUV means they have passed quality tests for german road use, which they have to have in germany, basically means its as good as or exeeds the quiality of the stuff the manufacturer put on it. Not required in the UK, but good to know your stuff has a certificate
  6. £590 would get KW v1 if you are swapping suspension i would get all new top rubbers too, you can get the lot for about £40 from a dealer
  7. The ride on my AP coilovers is better than the ride on the lowered suspension that came off before them. If you arent bothered about adjusting damping rates the AP coilovers are well worth the £350 for the quality, which was a fair bit cheaper than most offer fixed height suspension at.
  8. its a piece of piss takes about 10 mins for both in and out
  9. you can get adapters, a company like autoart will do them ring em see what they say http://www.autoartltd.co.uk/
  10. know what you mean, i saw this didnt have a standard spoiler and had my eye on one on the bay. But then when i saw this in person i actually like it better than the standard one and its not obnoxious, it goes really well
  11. no its a zender spoiler, ive tried to find one and they seem rare as rocking horse poop
  12. synta silver 10W40. get everything you need for a full change for 20 quid from TPS
  13. And HID main beams would basically be for show..... All im saying is dip HIDs and normal full beams will be quite adequate for any situations you would encounter, and as the poster said it was because of the yellow lens with a normal bulb i was stating the obvious that no one is hardly going to see his full beams on, as (apart from flashing someone, which you shouldnt be flashing HIDs much anyway as it will shorten their useful life) you only use them when no one is within a fair distance of the front of your car your car. So why waste the money for something that isnt going to give you that m
  14. try some silicone dielectric grease on the contacts too, will seal out water as its a grease and encourage electrical conductivity as thats what it does, ive dielectric greased every MAF i had and it always improves things
  15. From what i know, as i was going to pretty much do the same as you, the GTI shocks are the same just a bit firmer than VR6. the VR6 ones are softer for a more touring motorway cruise setup. I dont know if the shocks have the same poundage though and youll have to make sure you get VR6 springs not GTI as the VR6 has different corner weights due to the bigger engine.
  16. pushing the tabs from the back while also pulling froim the front is the easiest way
  17. are the bolts stuck or the clamps? the clamps can be a bit of a bugger to let go of the glass but they should come away with a bit of persuasion
  18. Ive seen chrome absolutely eveywhere but no one seems to do brushed ones, people have suggested a set of chrome ones and carefully scotching them up to look brushed but i dont really want to get a set and risk wrecking them and wasting my money. this is what im wanting like my old audi a3 had, click on to get a bigger pic Anyone know if you can get brushed handles and if so where? Cheers
  19. If you move the window up just a tad incrementally there are holes in the door for accessing the clamp bolts, you can also get them from the massive hole in the middle of the window. You cant get it out without at least disengaging the glass from the clamps but its far easier to just take the glass out of the door then its out of the way
  20. Got the second window seal in 100% condition from the dealers, finally after about 7 bent up ones, after a lot of fitting, pushing, hitting etc its on. The VR is now weather tight again! and got the passenger body coloured handle and armour plate on aswell. With the handle back on i could build the door back up Minus the door pull trim as they were still drying when the pic was taken The GTI pedals The complete centre console now The MOMO pit stop handbrake and gaiter The C pillar trims in, looking nice i think anyway The B pillars, i sprayed the belt runners satin black, as i thought
  21. whos going to see the full beams? you only use them when theres no one about
