  1. That's what I did, the crossovers are behind the far dash vents on each side numbers late tape to the dash bar. I gutted the standard tweeter holders and mounted the inphase ones in there, you have to mount them from under instead of on top but it works fine and looks stock.
  2. In the past I used alpine type S and in the golf atm I've got inphase xtc6. Always run just from the head unit. Lots of people say rainbow speakers are good too.
  3. If they are components the wiring gets a bit more tricky as you have to isolate which wire goes to what with the woofers and tweeters. A lot of speaker designs are too deep aswell which will foul on the window mechanism on the back side. This can be fixed if not too bad by spacing the speaker out a mil or so, also if you want to fit the stock plastic covers back over you will usually have to either trim or flatten some of the edge area on the woofers. If you're only using the stereo to drive them don't go too high powered on the speakers as they will be designed for an amp and the stereo will
  4. Thanks for answering the original question, what exactly do you want to know? Speaker size? Wiring? Give us a clue.
  5. If you disable the ABS you'll find out that the rear is almost over braked already with stock rears.
  6. This season my car has mostly been wearing, a silver pac-a-mac, I gave it a good wash and put its pyjamas on, and is mostly totally dead, took the battery out so I can easily charge it when it drains. I havent even looked under it for 4 weeks and probably wont until January.
  7. Cheers lads, unfortunately the car has spent its time since 4th Nov looking like this, and probably will until some time in January, had another operation on my wrist and can hardly pick up a milk bottle never mind drive a car
  8. I've just done a list of my old cars and some say they just can't be found
  9. It's their error not yours, they should fix it
  10. My focus ST threw flames out a foot long with a decat
  11. Tbh there isn't gonna be much difference between them is there.
  12. Even changing to uprated or solid on standard is a good idea, the front cross member is bushed too so can move about also.
  13. that's mis sold then, you should be able to get a refund.
  14. That would be cant take a hit without weeping wouldn't it?
  15. You cant buy the genuine bearing all on its own, you cant even buy the full bearing kit #33 it was dropped not very long ago, you can still buy the full bearing kit for the base suspension golf just not the plus (GTI, VR6). But the list of parts included is identical, I would think you'd get 4 stud hubs though. Id just get SKF bearings and re use everything else. Maybe a new end nut #12
  16. When you said pressing the bearing in I thought you meant item 7, if you mean 11 they are £96 for genuine.
  17. Genuine bearing housings are £236 a side, I would strive to reuse them.
  18. There's a big earth on one of the gearbox bolts and the positive runs to the starter.
  19. Excellent. And yea I've found the thermostat housings can't take a knock without causing a leak.
