  1. There is no defined position, as said it needs aligning its the only way to have it in the correct position.
  2. Good progress on the tear down, if you haven't already you need to find if your engine is early or late, being a P if its original it should prob have an OBD2 later type engine, early and late have some different parts that aren't interchangeable, like the rocker cover gasket for instance. The pic looks like a single top chain which also indicates a later engine.
  3. That's a private company parking ticket so doesn't actually mean a thing legally, if he rode out the threatening letters from fabricated debt collection agencies he would find that nothing would come if it anyway. Any private parking ticket should be filed straight away in the bin.
  4. I have never had issue on any MOT yea that's the best discount code for them
  5. You can fit the metal headgasket to raise it half a point but you have to be sure both surfaces are uber flat and parallel or it won't make a good seal.
  6. I think that's just down to preference, sill covers are notorious for collecting dirt and water etc causing corrosion.
  7. I had a goldeneye kit and for the money it was good but the quality was a bit sub par. HIDS4U are excellent and with the correct discount code are not too expensive.
  8. Oh yea forgot yours is garaged, it doesn't reach under the back bumper on the golf but will be due to the higher roofline, it looks up to the task to just keep muck and animals off though just didnt want it lifting off in wind.
  9. Just looked on laptop instead of phone for a better look, hmmm it does come up into the bottom part of the outer sill cover, you could still easily cut a pattern sill panel section to fit what you cut away.
  10. Did you tie your cover down Pete? It didn't seem overly secure to me so I modified it a bit and tied each corner down to a spoke on the wheel to make it more secure.
  11. Yea cheers, as I've been there before I know what's coming and am not looking forward to it, I keep thinking of 300. This will not be over soon, you will not enjoy this lol.
  12. And have you had a look underneath too see on the other side of the lip and if it goes into the floor area?
  13. Relatively they don't really look too bad, you could prob get away with cutting just the lip off and welding sheet pieces in.
  14. Got the car SORN'd, washed, waxed and covered now, not too sure how long for at the moment, depends on what needs doing.
  15. It's certainly made a nice improvement to the shine and depth of the paint.
  16. My rocker cover bolts were all mashed up and rusted, I replaced them with some stainless cap head allen bolts and washers, they are M6 size, the old ones are captured but if you whack them on the bottom with a hammer they will pop out of the collar, which you will need to retain to space the bolts properly. I put a thin run of black oil resistant sealant on my new seal just because I really don't want it to leak again.
  17. What happened to 10%+2 then? They had to catch you going 36 to sting you
  18. Probably a dremel for the tight bits
  19. If you use grey coolant resistant sealant I think you should be fine, and it wont lock the thread either
