  1. Its a 10mm difference in overall diameter, anything within +/- 2.5% is negligible. That's assuming the old and new are both 205 cross section.
  2. Replaced all the rusted cam cover bolts with these much smarter stainless socket cap bolts, I replaced the cam cover gasket too, no wonder the old one seeped oil, it had hardened so much it shattered when I pried it off!
  3. Someone got a fisheye attachment for their iPhone..
  4. Mine is genuine VW, expensive, but they do have an exchange subsidisation on them.
  5. Cool hopefully your new battery isn't wrecked from this and you don't have to get a new battery again too.
  6. Yea from the sounds of it alternator could be a likely culprit, it could be that the alternator isn't charging or it could be that it's not giving enough current. To check if the alternator is even functioning what you want to do it check the voltage across the battery posts with a multi meter with the car running and turned off. If the alternator can charge the voltage when running should be about 14v and when turned off you should get 12v. But if your battery is ruined through not charging you may get a lower reading on the battery itself when the car is off. You could have a dodgy connec
  7. I now have colour coded injectors And have put a fair few parts back on the car, also painted the oil filter housing too as it looked so dirty against the rest of the fresh silver
  8. Yea that's the reason for 2 driver side arms, I was on about the longer passenger blade, you need 2 drivers side arms or you can't lift them up.
  9. I can't think. Fifth element?
  10. What was the cost if the gasket kit and what did it include? As a backup I have seen a victor reinz composite gasket on eBay classifieds for £30, the seller wanted a MLS gasket and bought it in error.
  11. This will likely be an immobiliser fault did you transplant the ignition ring etc?
  12. Just went and checked my passenger side as I'd forgotten I'd swapped it for a different one to maximise screen swept area. 1J2955426B It's an inch longer towards the drivers side and about 2 inches longer towards the passenger side, pretty much the whole screen gets wiped with this combo. Question, is the corrado screen the same size as the mk3? As if not it may not need the bigger passenger blade.
  13. Taken off the arms and blades Arm - 6X2 955 410 C Blade - 6X2 955 426 A That's £20 x4 not £20 x2. This was also a couple of years ago so no doubt the prices will have gone up.
  14. Wasn't so bad opie had a 25% off deal.
  15. You got some big improvements on yours. Got the cleaned up gearbox back on today, only took 2 hours lol Then filled it up with fresh gear oil, went for MT90 this time over MTL as the MTL after 3 years had started to feel a bit "thin" Redline by name....
  16. Yea later brakes are 288s they have the same pass as 312s so the swept area is a lot bigger. I fitted lupo GTI aero wipers to my golf they are awesome compared to the old style, you need 2 drivers side arms and 2 drivers side blades, they are expensive though about £20 for each arm and blade from VW.
  17. Chemical guys wheel guard is hands down THE best thing for wheels I don't care what anyone else says.
  18. Yea they've all improved and now matched flow, what numbers did yours get before / after?
  19. If you want to try and doing yourself then; If it uses the same setup as a mk3 there will be room to adjust on the ball joint and the top where the shock mounts to, but undoing all that you'll need a 4 wheel alignment after to make sure you aren't scrubbing your tyres off. If you just went to a 4 wheel place they would sort out the camber etc for you for the same price. So really you should change as much of the suspension stuff you are going to them take it to get aligned properly
  20. Obviously no ones seen true grit. I'll try an easier one then, these men wear black.
  21. Fingers crossed it all works first time when it's all re-assembled lol! I got the clutch on today, took a fair while longer than I thought it would as I couldn't get all the dowels to line up with the pressure plate, got there in the end though, the fly wheel bolts were harder to put the final 1/4 turn on than the head bolts were! Fitted the new fuel filter, the old one was minging and the petrol that came out of it was murky brown, it was cleaner going in! Lifetime item my arse! And my injectors came back from Mr Injector, they look like new but haven't taken them out of their packaging yet
