  1. The plastic ones aren't even fit for purpose, never managed to hook the plastic one on properly, the metal one is a piece of cake.
  2. It states in the manual that ATF will eat at the seals.
  3. So where in that paragraph does it say attemp to make a colander out if the piece of metal with a screwdriver, the tester was a prick.
  4. You can check your alternator by metering the battery voltage with the engine running it should be ~14v. When my battery was too low I had to bump it just like this too and had no low voltage lights or anything. In my case the alternator was replaced at some time before I bought it with a very low amp one and the battery was never getting a thorough charge and eventually died, so I had to replace both the alternator for the proper one and the battery. Not saying this will be your problem but if you get to exhausting possibilities just another thing you could look at.
  5. On the front I prefer to drive up on 2 bricks and either jack on the subframe or the flat of the wishbone, on the rear I do the same and jack on the rear beam. I've replaced my sills due to crushing and splitting and don't really want to be doing it again any time soon. I had a go at my last MOT cos the pillock was attacking it with his fkin screwdriver like he was trying to make a hole in it no matter what the condition, so the having a tap on it is open to interpretation too it seems.
  6. you can get it from gsf and they give members discount
  7. Its nasty, a few years ago one of my friends had a friend that was selling a black 3.2 Audi TT coupé for a good price nothing wrong with it, and said I may be interested, he left out this crucial piece of information, madame whiplash extended red leather interior, turned out this was the reason the price was lower. Yuk.
  8. I think it's possible that the top is what they mean though cos if you remove too much seat there won't be enough room for the lifters, I can scan the chart for working it out if that's what they mean.
  9. I've just looked again to be sure, for valve margin it does say NA, so it doesn't give any info for the protrusion on the base side.
  10. The top of the stem, how far up it can be in the head, on the cam side
  11. I drove over a bit of mud on the road and have a couple of little rooster tails up the lower portion of the front wing and back bumper and was a bit peeved, I don't know what I'd do if it got that mucky lol. You can fit a mk3 TDI undertray with a little bit of cutting of the tray to fit the different sump position, they come up on eBay every so often but prices can vary largely, I got one a couple of years ago for a tenner, there was one on last month for 90 quid.
  12. You're right, people are f-kin pricks I swear people don't even look when making any manoeuvre. If any of them ever result in my car being damaged I won't accept responsibility for any harm that comes to them.
  13. It doesn't actually tell you that, it just tells you how far the valve can be on the top side, not how much the base can protrude into the chamber.
  14. 4 is 1/4" or 6mm 6 is 3/8" or 9.5mm So you'll have to decide which.
  15. Is it for valve seat refacing?
  16. For anyone that's interested there's a really good game for free today on AppStore called LostWinds2, I got the first LostWinds for free last year and it was really good and normally about £4. Its a game probably worth the money if it wasn't free, so just wanted to let everyone know that its free today.
  17. Nice, I looked at the before pics and thought nice and tidy, then looked at the after pics, now the before pics look pretty rubbish lol.
  18. Jesus that is the brightest mulberry ive ever seen!!

  20. According to the gov website it has to be registered before 1st March 06, I thought it used to be before 31st march 06 for the lower rate, but then again the site doesn't recognise that the R32 even exists.
  21. You gotta be careful with the boost with the stock manifold don't you?
  22. My interior light had gone bananas and would flash on off on off 24/7 and I tracked the fault to the controller chip on the board in the light, £2 off eBay later and I picked up another and fitted the full board and problem fixed :-d
  23. Good choice he knows everything I would use him if I ever needed anything done that I couldn't do myself.
