  1. Ford do the intake for cheaper for the galaxy VR6, the part no will be in the commonly used spare part numbers sticky thread.
  2. You might even be able to get away without disconnecting the hose, if you cut a little off the end by running a knife right round then take the end bit away and push the hose on more, repeating until the damaged area has been fully removed.
  3. Its polarising isn't it, I personally prefer the standard front with quads, but having said that the only time I think the Vento front looks OK is with that exact grille. But my vote still goes with standard front and quads :-D
  4. Jesus wept my whole invoice for cool pack and leads was £195
  5. Just dug my old invoice out the part number for leads is 357 998 031 A if you go get some
  6. I got some last year and IIRC they were in the region of £80. Also regarding the tool try and see if your plastic one will do the job before planning to do the lot cos often it's basically a piece of crap and you need a metal one, laser do a good one for about a tenner
  7. If the coilpack and leads function as they should then it doesn't really matter how old they are, you just need to check that they are working correctly.
  8. Gave the battery tray a heavy coating of paint and replaced the bolts and washers with stainless cos they were a right bugger to get off.
  9. I like the borbets but the silver roses look good too.
  10. Yes I've had that twice before in the 3 years I've had my VR, nothing apparently wrong and when the lights cleared themselves everything back to normal, you can also clear this more quickly by just unplugging the big multi plug on the abs unit under the expansion tank. Vagcom did register a fault but I can't remember what, something like signal interruption or out of range, not been an issue since though so could only be put down to exactly this, just a hiccup.
  11. The pressure senders are the 2 big ones at the front, low on the right and high on the left
  12. I'll let you know, not with my laptop anymore
  13. In ETKA the pump is identical, its the exact same part # Alternatively you could have a go at fixing it, it sounds like just a leaky seal.
  14. No worries, just I had this very problem on a car years ago, it had stock suspension with few month old tyres then I had lowered suspension fitted and aligned up perfectly and it pulled, I put brand new tyres on and the problem disappeared.
  15. I think I'm on a big protection mission at the moment so carried on with these jobs this weekend, which began with removing the front arch plastics and masking up all areas, then waxoyling the front and rear full arches. I got the sump all cleaned up and painted, looks a million times better now. I also checked the tank straps and thought they could do with a bit of TLC, I was going to try and remove them but on inspection thought id do more damage than good so I cleaned them up and painted them in situ, they look much better too now. I also fitted these handbrake torsion springs as the hand
  16. Saw this the other day, not uber rare which was the theme I was kind of going for with this thread, but then again I think this is pretty rare lol
  17. I will if they are GTI or VR6 mk3, or if they are obviously modified (only if done tastefully though lol). I will give a nod or wave to any age golf that follows this rule, it's like you can almost tell if it's enthusiast owned or not just by looking, I even get waves off transporters round here.
  18. Well in the 3.2 sump thread it says the 2.8 24v sump is the same as the 12v sump just alloy and that the oil pump is too high, or low, depending on which way you look at it hehe
  19. Could be your tyres if they have worn in a bit funny
  20. I don't know the answer but did you read the 3.2 sump fitting sticky in tuning?
  21. Lukey.

    confused lol

Yea, some mk3s meant for south africa were sold in the UK on S and T plates.
