  1. Got my genuine anni indicator units the, what look like to me, black audi style side repeaters and the LED bulbs for them. I've decided to change to anni units because people have been more and more giving me grief that on a bright day my smoked stock items are too dim to shine through and they cant easily see my indicators. I didn't like that while they are still smoked you could see the white LED bulb inside it, same with the clear lensed side repeaters. The only thing I had to hand was a black CD pen so coloured them in with that, worked better than i expected. and when I had just done 1
  2. I'd take the rear carpet out and roll the front carpet forward. Better to do a little more work than set your interior on fire. The seat runners are part of the chassis
  3. Part # is 000 998 229 they call it ruestsatz. It's not plug and play though and needs splicing into the back of the fuse box
  4. There are a couple of different types of plug so you need to get one that is identical to yours, some have wider or a different number of prongs on the connector end. For instance my abs and airbag connector the incandescent bulbs burnt out and I couldn't find a matching one anywhere and ended up soldering on some new bulbs in my original unit.
  5. I got it from TPS it's a proper VW retrofit
  6. One of my number plate lights burned out so I decided to LED them too after i saw the new BMWs which have white LED plate lights and they looked good. I used the flat chip style LEDs that are 180 degree opposed I also put some better plugs in the spoiler holes in the rear window, it had plastic bungs in and they leaked. Here the washers both sides have number plate tape on the glass side to make a water tight seal, they also look a lot better. Stainless of course. It doesn't look like the light would shine on the plate but it does really well, its never dark enough any more to show a good
  7. Fitted LED indicators into the OEM rear light units. I stripped the sides of the boot out to install the 50w ballast resistors as I wanted them hidden but still able to do their job, as they have to be mounted to a heat conductive surface ie metal(duh) to dissipate any heat. I was able to mount them using stock screw holes and mounted them on the outside face of the inner boot wall. I cable tied the 2 sunroof drains around the mounted resistors so they wouldn't melt if they contacted a hot resistor. TBH I don't think this would be a problem as I left the hazards on for ages and they only got
  8. and they were all good and tight when you examined them? new parts could be duds too, if all the joints re new and good then theres only really bushes down there too
  9. oh its real i spoke to the owner quite in depth, its got little engine problems and was on its way to have the engine out
  10. Today I saw this, totally awesome
  11. Just a little detail today, the car is nice and clean and waxed and the inside of the filler flap came to my attention, it was filthy. So I took out the rubbers, removed the flap and scotched the interior down. Then I just blathered it in gloss black, being black magic you cant tell. It looks a lot cleaner and tidier now and as a bonus when I cleaned the crap off the inside of the flap I found the original info stickers. After I'd cleaned it I buried the stickers in lacquer so they should stay looking good for a long time. The hinge area dirt doesn't bother me too much, and i ran out of time
  12. saw the owner get into the maserati at the gym, and ive seen/heard him in the gym a lot, he is a proper nob, like, reeeeeeeeeally
  13. thats it im washing and uber polishing my black VR today, this reminds me that they look too good polished
  14. Lukey.

    Excited!

re the ABS light, if it doesnt light up you can also pry the plastic part easily from the dash with your fingers and see if they unplugged the connector/it became unplugged for any reason, then do the ignition test again and see if it functions correctly. If there is chain rattle you will know, it would sound like shaking a jar of marbles, feint ticking isnt bad chains Take a good thorough look under if you can, check the floorpan for rust generally but mainly sills and floor bungs, there is likely there might be some rust on the arches under the extensions, but you cant really rip the extensi
  15. 93-99 is a broad spectrum, they went to OBD2 around 95, regardless you can do the checks in the what OBD is my car thread and find out for your own personal circumstance
  16. have you put a meter on the contacts on the nearside wires?
  17. Whoa that's tight,, 4 bolts 2 along the tops and remove the grille piece with the strip that runs under the lights and there will be 2 along the bottom
  18. what aftermarket lights do you have? the fogs are twist on from the back and take H3, most aftermarket lights take H1 in dips and should be replaceable in situ
  19. The sensor is just a closed circuit, if you can't find any pads that have the correct wires just bridge the plugs connectors and the light will go out
  20. I measured mine as a 75mm drop and my front splitter clears a kerb by millimetres, and I get no problems with speed bumps and they're all those stupid arse 1 for each lane bumps round here, so the wheels straddle the low sides and the sump goes over the peak of them, never hit one.
  21. its a bit of a reach but they are just threaded rods, park against a wall on a flat surface and twist them, you'll see the beam going up or down
