  1. i used a welders sheet its the same thing really
  2. It wasn't getting the bolt located that was the problem, it was getting the bushes in their seats
  3. Ha my stepdad did that to his old sierra XR4X4 with the doors, but he went a tad further, he removed the door handle rods too lol
  4. I know older fords had a corrosion problem my brothers fiesta Zetec-S rusted like a bugger, but my gfs 02 focus didnt have any rust after 10 years and my old 57 focus ST had a 10 year corrosion warranty
  5. They are pointless other than for the manufacturing process, but they probably risk assessed it and realised they won't rot out for more than 3 years so not their problem lol
  6. Same I took the interior out and any that were rotten were plated and all others that were fine were cleaned up, zinc treated, bungs tiger sealed, seam sealer'd over then shutz sprayed over that. Think they'll be fine from now on
  7. For the heater a bowden cable operates with the hot/cold knob, I haven't had my dash out but am assuming it operates a flap for hot or cold, it may be as simple as this cable isn't properly connected
  8. As its proven and cheaper idstill get a BMC
  9. That could tie in with the fact it doesn't do it when cold, as the thinner 5w30 would be at its thickest from a cold start. As it coincided with the oil change that would be the first thing I'd do, change to 10w40 semi
  10. wouldn't the heater matrix be on the other side in left handers?
  11. yea they're from TPS. I didn't get VW rear wheel bearings as they are £50+VAT a side and that was a joke so I got some from Andrew Page
  12. I didn't see the discount booze offer in the premium section?
  13. 6lbs? I bet you could stall it just by looking at it
  14. Now to just sort out the knocking, that the 2 obvious culprits are ball joints and rear wheel bearings, so these will be changed on Monday when the parts arrive, hopefully that will sort it out as I have a full geometry alignment booked for Monday afternoon
  15. Done the drivers side now too, no pics but mirror the above ones and its the same lol So i ordered some new ball joint plates and the parts guy was adamant that the number had been superceded and you cant get the old number any more. Then these turn up totally not the same. Not even near. So I ring them back and email them a damn picture, and lo and behold the part number that i gave them in the first place does exist and they have them in stock, DUH!! So out with the broke and in with the new
  16. The rear bearings have excessive play too so I'm going to change them too, VW are having a laugh at £50 per side when they get chucked when the disc is goosed anyway! These parts won't come until Monday so I'll fit them then. Everything else looks to be in vgc so they are staying as they are. Then total geometry setup after that, hopefully on Monday too if I cans wheeze it in
  17. To be fair I was explaining everything to him an said I thought it might be bearing or cv / driveshaft and he agreed with me before we started looking
  18. Even at half 7 this morning it was nice and sunny and t shirt warm so it was windows down and some jimmy eat world this morning
  19. a mechanic mate thinks that there is a lot of play in the ball joints where i couldnt feel any upon further inspection so im going to fit 2 new ones, he also said that the ticking looked to be the stone guard on the disc making contact, even though i bent it out of the way as far as i could see but he said it was catching
  20. Bollox sorry I've just noticed, I was posting on my iPhone and it's put 12 instead of what I typed which should have been 22, as you will notice the price of these is nearly 3 times 12 lol sorry for the mistake If you now changed your mind I understand it was my honest mistake. Let me know
  21. Yea it is good, I've got involver as well and fundaçion, I've been waiting forever for an invol3ver but alas, nothing, in fact no new releases from GU for quite some time now
  22. No you don't, but you do need to take out the light/switch and the motor cover, and the visors and grab handles of course
  23. Been listening to sasha - invol2ver for a couple of days
