Just read viw28 build thread and although that is a very impressive car, it's too much for my current budget and goals I do like his interior, race style but with comfort, which is exactly what I want. As for engine..... Unreal. But it's just too much ATM, I think il just turbo a 12v, And aim for about 350bhp Along with a full underneath rebuild too, I'm even just going to keep the standard vr6 mk3 alloys I've got a spare inlet, injectors and other parts lying around too. A 350bhp 20year old car that's had some weight stripped out, is going to wipe the floor with a lot of cars even of today
  2. JESUS CHRIST LOL I didn't want to rush into things but 500bhp is unreal My aim is a sort of track car but useable weekend car. I want it to look clean and nice but still with a track feel. I.e no rear interior and a roll cage, but still have a false floor with a spare wheel, fancy race seats with harnesses as they is only me and the girlfriend. I wanted it as a project per the summer and winter then be issuable next year OR just a rebuild vr for this summer then take it off the road for the winter, I know you guys are saying the 24v swap is the way to go then turbo that but won't this increas

  4. Although your right with the 4motion is prefer the mk3 vr6, mainly for looks, and it doesn't look like another mk4 on the road. Plus I haven't looked into things for the 24v so means more research although I know it's pretty much the same lump I have heard things about a 3" pipe clearance issues but apparently it can fit and is worth although il work around it somehow with either a 2.5" or 2" So 263s are the ones then, even with cams and exhaust with a remap I'd only see just over 200bhp? I was hoping to achieve 250bhp ish before getting boost, this isn't an issue just I probably expected mor
  5. Hi I've owned 2 vr previous and now I'm itching to get another. My plan is to find a cheapest 3dr and rebuild the engine, renew all the suspension parts, coil overs, bigger brakes etc then eventually TURBO!! I've just recently bought a new house with plenty garden for a' PROJECT' well that's what I keep telling our lass, and so far she's okay with it Now engine mods! I can't afford to buy a load of turbo parts and fit them, or even go straight to stealth.   6. yeah mate, the additive just goes straight in with 2k, but ask your supplier abwt mixing ratios as i have a memory like a fish lol. im in my final level of body refinishing at college so if you need to knw anything pm me
  7. u need to get the rods that match the type of plastic in the bumper, for it to weld properly. also for ya flexible filler just go to your local paint suppler and ask for it.....cheaper then halfrauds lmao and u will need a plasticiser additive u mix with your paint...this will allow the paint to flex without cracking. hope this helps

  11. i have a polo with the blue bottle top, il try and swap them over mate, and how much was it do get the water pump done? i mite just get that done anyway.

  14. are right. is a water pump hard on an obd2? and and does it run off the belt of the O/S of the car
  15. yeah it does, ive revved it when the bottle top has been off and it sprays everywhere. ive heard there is 2water pumps on theese. is it true? and i tried to get a haynes bible but they dnt make them :'(
  16. well basically my 95 golf losses water only when i drive. it appears to loose it from the bottle, but the bottle aint leaking, it pouring out of the over flow hole. if i leave the car ticking over with out the bottle top on or if i leave it switched off it dosent loose water. any ideas?

  21. the same thing happened to my golf, got the aftermarket alarm removed by a auto-electrian, but the OEM immobilser on the ecu had also been enabled. so i have to send mine of to c2motorsport to reset it. 100quid
  22. i had an auto-electrian out the other day who removed the aftamarket alarm system and put a fault finder on. he said that the factory fitted immobilser on the ECU has turned it self back on and i either need to buy a new ECU, transponder, key etc or take it to a speacialist......now apparently stealth and c2 motorsport can do this. and DUB 25 i sort of know what u are saying, the engine is obd2, acording to the guide thing on this forum how to tell which 1 it is. but i still dnt reli have a clue lol, and what is and isv? all i know is that its obd2 on a N reg hahah cheers
  23. right, i have done a service, plugs, ht leads oil etc. and it still starts then cuts straight out. i think its the imobliser because i did disconnect the battery for a few days and i think i splashed water in it when i topped the expantion tank up. but the central locking works if a battery is on. it starts up then afta it revs up it cuts out
  24. im defo doing plugs and leads on friday. drop the oil etc. i have no service history with the car so its going to be wise. thanks alot lads. im getting the imboliser taken out anyway lol
