ABS failure caused by Poor road Conditions?
Greg VR6 replied to Greg VR6's topic in Wheels, Brakes, Suspension and Steering
All sorted, a random look under the bonnet then under the car followed by 2 taps on the light and a quick drive and the light has gone and ABS is now back. Cracking work! -
Just noticed my ABS light has come on and have checked on my snowy road and there is no attempt from the system to work. I have done over 200 miles over the last few days in really poor conditions, snow, ice etc and the ABS has taken has come into play quite a bit. My question relates to if the poor road conditons ,or the snow or ice would have caused a malfunction from the system or one of sensor? Is it worth re-setting the ECU to see if that does any good?

Me too. Although recently the mrs seems to have fallen for it leaving me to drive her car.

That will be going to Hills Motors then, a real shame to see such a car taken off the road, some people just dont have any foresight as to the asset or the physical value of a vehicle. I have seen some excellent cars going to be scrapped. A1 condition Mk3 16v's with 17k on the clock, as well as a whole host of other classic vehicles and useable vehicles. all lined up around the country to be destroyed. I have heard of garages buying the car off the owner rather than it entering the scheme, shame the garage didnt do this.

That picture is perfect, thanks for that. From a bit of research it does seem that i'm missing the pre-filter pipe so will source a sutiable one. Do you use the standard induction feed for the cold air feed?

Just picked up a mega cheap BMC kit off a bloke who was breaking a VR6 on eaby. If anyone has any pictures of the kit fitted to a car that would be great as i think i'm missing the pre-filter induction hose. Had a quick search but couldnt find anything.... Cheers

My VR6 has Koni Adjustable dampers with H&R springs. The previous owner lost both the adjuster key and manual. I have two questions, first is which way do i turn the adjuster for harder or softer. Second is a little more open regarding your own personal damper settings. How hard / soft do you run your Koni's? What would you recommend?

I have a multicar policy with Admiral and it cost me £190 a year for the 6 which i dont think was bad. I have 6 years NCB, no pints or accidents but am only 25
