    Hi Ive borrowed my mates fault code reader usb cable jobby as we intended to hook it up to try and discover why the ABS light doesnt illuminate when the ignition is on. (and why the hand brake light is always on!) Unfortunatly he has a mrk4 and i think the program is different as we couldn't get it to work. Does anybody know which program i will need on this site? http://www.ross-tech.com/vcds/download/ No idea if its a OBD 1 or 2! its a MRK 3 VR6 30/8/1995 174BHP Cheers

    It was only finger tight anyway. Had it all to bits again today, greased up the bearings, put it all back together and i think ive finally sorted it! (now to solve the ABS light prob!)

    Thanks for the reply, I managed to do the brake pipes ok, and ive changed the caliper and its still sticking, so now its had a new disk, pads, and caliper and still its causing me problems, does anybody have any idea what else could be causing this? (running out of time for the re-mot!)

    Hello.. I have a '95 Mrk 3 Golf VR6 It has unfortunatly failed its MOT on the rear brake disk, so i decided to chane both rear disks and pads, after having problems with the rounded off allen key bolts i managed to replace both disks and pads, but the OSR pad is sticking and making a nasty humming sound, (the disk doesnt spin round freely by hand either) so after a short journey the disk is very hot! - i added all the parts to the new disk, used a wind back tool to push the piston back in the caliper but after you apply the brakes it just sticks again. I can only think to replace the caliper
