  1. i think i found the solution http://www.vr6oc.com/e107_plugins/forum/forum_viewtopic.php?389900 ask him
  2. ok mate i called him up he has one in his car thats knocking, one in the boot that has a bigger 5th gear, and the one in the car hes brakeing is untested for the last 4 years so hes not ready to sell them, i can try get hold of the other guy who brakes vr6s in bedford to ask him but i dont have his number, i will go round his latter to see if he has anything, i will keep you updated, btw theres one on ebay with 11 hours left and its on £25 now so have a quick look there
  3. well the guy in bedford will probs want more than 50 for his, i will call him at some point to ask how much he will do it for then how much for it to be bought up to you, then how much fitted too, if you need soo, but i do know he has two vr6 on his drive, one hes breaking the other is his and i think he has a spare box in his garden.
  4. it sounds like the immobiliser is stoping it from running when you try restart they only run for 4 or something secounds, but i dont know if you even got one tbh
  5. im going to say faulty ecu or the more likely thing of the Igntion switch, but its weird that it wont run when you try restart it
  6. im not sure but i got one you could buy for a tenner if you can travel to bedford
  7. i know someone who brakes vr6 in bedford only down the road from you, he could probs sort you out
  8. i think iv seen you in bedford before :-p if you see a grey old golf cl flying about thats me lol, cars looking good, i am looking into a bora for my company car, how would you compare to a golf?
  9. 30mm i had my wheel nuts off 3 weeks ago mate
  10. the temp sensor in the water housing on the front of the engine? that might be your fault is the lamba sensor is working as that has a huge part in the fueling of the engine, but its weird how the lamba been unpluged is improving the drive, i would most likely say you have a faulty maf or lamba sensor but if not try the coolent sensor i think its the blue one (get someone else to tell you if im right or wrong :-p) but yyea i bought one 5 months back and it was a 10er
  11. have you flushed the coolent and rad they may be a block somewear in your engine thats stoping the water from getting to the matrex, my heating is red hot lol.
  12. btw i just been out for lunch and gave it a very hard and very fun drive and it didnt fault on me once, dose the maf need a drive or two to set its self up again, or maybe affter the first drive i turned it off and it heated the maf to burn off all the crap on it and its working fine now? i hope thats it tbh
  13. hi everyone, MJ vr6 tryed to help me out with a maf but due ro my work and are traveling distances it had to be cancled, mainly me lol, thanks for trying mate, i manged to get hold of a maf yesterday and i instaled it today and my car is still doing it, still failing to rev past 3k rpm with any power :-/, im getting hold of a cat soon to see if i got a blocked cat or not, but yea the maf is ruled out
  14. well i disconnected the maf for 2 days to have a good test at it, if you dont mind coming and haveing a look we could swap the maf over and see if we get any results, i have a feeling its more to do with the maf been really stuffed and the TB been abit random, where are you heading in bedford if your near the town and have 20mins to spare i would really appreciate that.
  15. oh yea theres really helpfull and nice people around the vr6 for some resone so getting help or spares is normally fairly easy, i have two mates in bedford to help me out with parts and so on, the people who drive vr6's normaly like there cars and like there vr6 more so seeing other people with them, they normaly help :-p (if that makes sense)
  16. i swaped the vr lump into my golf cl 1.6 and all i can say is you will be smilleing when you hear it roar, its fast aswell put a few people to shame with mine, and the best part of it is how much people know how fast a vr6 act is, those people who do know are the people who drive them :-p the rest you can blow away!
  17. how much are you looking for it? and i cant get vagcom connected it just wont talk with the car, it dose it with the maf disconected as well but when you disconnect the maf while the engine is running theres no bif diffrence so its probley playing up
  18. yes it gets warm without a problem and runs just normal below 3000rpm and now and again it will work fine 800rpm-6500rpm its weird it sits at 800rpm at traffic most of the time. now and again it will sit at 1000rpm, i was reading up on the vr6 engines and apparently if the maf fails you wont see to much diffrence but if the maf and TB both stop working your in troble, so i may have 2 diffrent falts randomly happening, also it would make sense why it likes to run now and again if the TB is calibrating every so offten i start it.
  19. yes i have the vr6 cat on, but the problem didnt sort of just get worse and worse it sort of just happened about 3months ago :-/, im putting 70quid of fuel in it a week i would just like it to work, i think my mate has a decat i could use for a while but i hope its not as my mots at the end of the month, is there anything else it could be?
  20. i had 16" subaru wheels on for a while they looked sick as well but they rubbed the caliper big time i manged with 10mm spacers and old pads just to clear the caliper but you will be fucked when it comes to new pads and the caliper is sitting out that extra 10mm and the alloys catching again, best bet is just to get the right wheels that do the job
  21. oh and if you know of a sensor and a way to test it please tell me, im able to look at any aspect that may be faulty as i put the lump in the car to start with.
  22. ok im confussed now, the car wont do more than 90mph now, it will pull all the way till 70mph in 5th then lose power and will stop pulling at 90mph, so thats what way worse than the 1.6 i had in there, i changed the fuel fillter it made no diffrence the pump is working fine with good flow i havnt checked the pressure yet but im pretty sure its nothing to do with the pump but rather something to do with a sensor, dose anyone know of such a sensor that might be causeing the problem? its annoying how i have to run my 2.8l engine about with all the MPG of a 2.8 but power of a golf buggy i want to
  23. i would stay clear i have heared there really bad built! look in the secound hand maket i got two small k03 turbos for my twin turbo built and it came to 97 pound posted and when they arrived i was happy to see that they had a nice easy life and still looked new :-p
