  1. i want to convert mine, i covered 25000miles last year so it would be worth it as savings are huge! stupid how much money we need to spend on are fuel :-/
  2. yea i seen that too "HPA" i think two k03 should take you to the 300hp area and shouldn't see any problems as the turbos and engine wont be working to hard. what i do want though is power under 3000rpm and all the way to 7000rpm i dont want a huge amount of unusable power just something that feels almost un turboed and very fast lol
  3. also if the problem continues try finding all the grounds and cleaning them up
  4. hi im planing on using two k03 turbos to bi turbo my car as there cheap, used a hell of alot and there good for 200hp each on the audi s3's im not looking for huge power gains just something to make it faster :-p, its also a bit of my diy project as i will be making the manifolds and tubing round the engine bay. so yea anyone used two of them and was it successful?
  5. just look for a rad out of a 4.2 or something bigger that still fits behind the grill, and yea a oil cooler wouldn't be a bad idear :-p, also if its a track day car make the air path to the radd as open as possible. i think there is a few gasket options that would help the problem but in the end of the day you probably warped the head abit and thats the why it would fail.
  6. vr's do tend to get hot when you thrash them :-p, im not to sure what people do to keep the heat down, i think the best thing you could do if you plan on using it for alot of track days is posible find a bigger rad and make sure the water pump and water housing bits are all working, are you turboed or supercharged?
  7. with 99 tescos petrol and fueling problems i manged 280 out of one tank :-p, not to bad for a daily driver when it works.
  8. i think your confused with a head gasket to decrees the compression of the engine for forced induction, just go for the normal gasket its fairly rare to blow them unless your turboed or supercharged. or dont look affter your car and get it to hot :-/
  9. let me know how you get on im having the same problems, i cleaned the MAF and it got a lot better, so i would try that and see if it sorts your problems out, im going to check my lambda sensor out tonight to see what that will do
  10. well i think the MAF is on its way out, made the problem less frequent, but its still there, im going to spend some time under the bonnet tomorrow, laying down grounds and cleaning bad connectors up, then if the problem stays i will have to start changing things, i will hock up vag com tomorrow to see if it tells me anything
  11. ok back a few steps again :-/ does any one know if the k&a pannel fillter might be causeing problems, its just a mesh one but i herd of people contaminating there MAF fith the oils off them or something?
  12. will we get a go on thee 1/4mile?, and how much is it i only live 20mins down the road but are yet to go :-p
  13. well after soaking the MAF sensor for 30mins in alcohol it seems to run alot better, its not being retarded anymore. thanks for the help
  14. its the blue or yellow one in the water housing, if you drain the coolent you may aswell have a look at the thermostat, which is located in the housing to, you can get to it by following the radiator houses back to the housing and one of them will go into the front of the housing which will be on plastic 90degree atachment piece to the housing (http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/VW-GOLF-VR6-CORRADO-WATER-FLANGE-THERMO-HOUSING-C513-/220505500573?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM on the bottom left of the photo) you may aswell just change the thermostat as its cheep as chips
  15. i have run it without the maf and it still dose it, the coil pack and spark plugs are newish the leads arnt though. it allmost feels like theres a shortege of fuel, its not backfireing just randomly loseing like half of its power. its obd2 ecu and electronics and im running it on 99ron from tescos, but its doing it with all fuels. if it helps im preatty sure it dont do it when its cold (but i dont like flooring cold engines so i have not tested that theory to much) when my coil pack went last like it just sort of ran like crap not good then a few short moments of crap. i guese i could try clea
  16. i dont have fans on the front of my car it takes a fair while of being stoped for the temp to start climbing up, i drive mine round town and it dont overheat but im not stoped for long, if you keep the car moving over 15mph it shouldnt overheat regardless if you have a fan or not, its most likely to be the thermostat in the water housing thats on its way out, or the water pump, i need to be sitting still for atleast 2mins for the tem to start crawing up
  17. well my car was running fine till about a week ago, right now its accelerating fine then loseing power for a a few seconds then going back to normal and it just keep happening when my foots on the floor. i suspect its going to be the maf or grounds or something like that but im not to sure and dont know where to start, the ground cables are all new, the wiring was all done a few months ago as i swapped the vr6 into my car a few months ago, just asking if anyone has had the same problem, and what there fix was??? or any ways i can go around to work out the problem? cheers paul
  18. ok i replaced my inner cv joint the other day and i manged to pull the driveshaft out of the outer cv joint, all i want to ask is if anyones done a outer cv joint is they a clip to hold the axle in place or does it just slid in and sit in place, i took the whole outer cv apart looking for remains of this clip i think is ment to be there but i found nothing so i thought i would try asking some people who might know :-p thanks
