p0u1 replied to VR6-DUB's topic in Car Insurance Discussion
im paying 1600 a year with adrani flux it jumped up 300 pound from last year, so 20 last year and 21 now, yea it makes great sense dosent it, i looked at getting 1L clios and small cars insured and they cost more somehow -
and if you put a meter on the battery and get some one to crank the car over the voltege shouldnt drop to low, unless the battery is on its way out, you can only really test a battery when it has a load on it.
-
well how can i get my bonnet up when my bonnet cable has snaped :-s
-
well im only getting a ps3 due to the fact my xbox died affter a year and i want something for the winter :-p my xbox couldnt be sent back as i chiped it to download games then play them before i buy them to see if there worth the stupid prices they ask
-
also whats is it doing as mine was been really tempremental then i opened the solinode up on the side of the starter motor, 3 long scweews hold it together then i cleaned the inside and used some switch cleaner and it got me another 2months, so if the times tight then have a go at that
-
obd1 then and the starter mottor only has two bolts holding it in, and im fairly sure the obd1 and obd2 starter motors are the same as its the same engine other than the eletronics
-
also get the car nice and hot so the fans kick in, the grab one of the hoses that gos to the rad, these will be hot so use a glove or something, and while holding the tubes give it a rev and if the hose gos hardeer thats could be a indercation that the gases are leaking into the coolent system
-
so your loseing water, changed the water housing as they leak all the time, the orings on the crack pipe are rubish and most of the water housing ant very good, i still need to fix mine, and surly if your going to do a test for the HG its the sniff test you want to do.
-
what coulor wings do you need, because i have a blue car and my make has a silver car and theres also another dark blue car been brokeing
-
well yea it works, i know it works im using it, but it cakes everything in brown stuff and i had to change my 5month old thermostat because it was starying opened due to the fact it was covered in radweld, but yea as a quick fix go for it
-
i think parkypaul is the closes there :-p just needs a 2.0l badg and the body kit, it would be a 2l due to rallying rules, but its propper sick and fast
-
sounds like the its the switch that you turn on the right to put the lights on thats gone wrong or the wireing to the fues box, bit weird, but if you have main beam it might be something to do with the stoork
-
dont uuse radweld it cause more problems down the line, and your engnine water system gets caked in shit, have a good look around for the leak and when you find it change the part its the easyest way

thats what i thought thats why i never changed it, theres still the oygen sensor and knock sensors and many more, i wish i knew which ones would cause the problem, later im going to borrow some switch cleaner from work and give the ecu and engine loom connectors a clean, i might be changing stuff and not getting anywhere due to bad connections, am i right in saying the lamba sensore only comes in use when the engine temp reaches 70c, becuase mines doing it from cold to warm. -
have you had a look at a r32 engine as they produce the power your looking for and you could pick up one for the same sort of price of a na vr6 build
-
get a tape messuer under the car :-p easyest way and you will know that your getting the right pipe, why dont you make your own though, 45quid or what ever the decat cost is alot for a pipe with a small bend in it, if you can weld open your old cat up and strip it then weld it back up, it might sound a bit like a bean can but it will be a decat with a hole for the lamba sensor
-
what about the coilovers or suspention your running they might be sqeeking
-
lukey is right, but im using jubilee clips as its easyer.

ok i changed the fuel regulator and it made no diffrence, the fuel rail was still pressured affter a fair bit of time which should mean i dont have a leakey injector, so to recap: TB fully cleaned includening eletronics fuel lines all checked, all good no cracks or splits the fuel regulator, pump and fillter have been changed the cat and lamba sensore has been changed the cam sensore the maf theres new spark plugs gaped to 0.028inchs theres new ht leads and the coil pack has been inspected and theres no cracks. i think the only thing i havent changed is the crank sensore which i was givving to -
take the relay out on the bottom right of the fues box i think its 157, thats the fuel pump, then crank the engine over for 6-7secound, and repeat that 4-5 times and that should get all the pressure out the fuel system, affter you do that you can remove the fuel lines, be carful though, because you dont have much of the fuel line to play with if you cut it, and remember to get some small jubilee clips before you start the job, there to seal the fuel pipe joints

yea but when you walk to your car you can almost feel water in the air :-p thats normal. -
also you might be able to clean the sender up and get it working, mine used to go up and down for about 3 days then it just started working again, if the sender cost a fair bit new and you need one i can take one off the gti i have for a fair price, but you would be better off with a new one or cleaning yours, btw when you unscweew the black top, you have to lift the sender up, its atached by two tubes and wires to the pump so be carfull not to make the job 5 times longer
