  1. ok thanks, its not plugged into anything now, just sitting there... :S
  2. well ive sorted the little green plug and the other 3 coloured plugs on the front of the engine now. (been 4 months since i stripped it all so its hard to remember where it all goes!! ) theres a brown plug at the top right hand corner of the engine which i have no idea where that goes! on my standard vr enginge i had before it didnt have that plug.... also on the engine i had before there was a plug at top left hand corner of engine where the throttle body was which plugged into the breather pipe on the air fitler pipe, but on this turbo engine theres a sort of like "air filter" there instead
  3. mine was lightened and it made a big difference! compared to a standard vr6 mine revved up alot quicker as well!!
  4. right the engine is in but im having trouble now with a few things... theres some plugs on the engine which i dont know where they go! and i have a fuel pressure gauge which i want to connect up but im not 100% sure what pipe goes where. there are two pipes coming from the fuel rail into the gauge and im guessing i just follow the pipes straight through..... any ideas people? heres a video link http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Kjh_-f-yylU
  5. Right engine is out As you can see its not the best of places to get the engine out but ill have to make do!! CAN NOT WAIT TILL ITS DONE!!!! am dying to take it out for a spin heres some pics
  6. oh really :S how much is yours lowered by? when i bought my vr i was told its lowered 50 or 60mm.
  7. will do' date=' have the front end of at the moment, but its going slow! gotta get the exhaust of and drive shafts then its pretty much ready to come out. measured exhaust, its 3" bore, so gonna have 3" all the way through
  8. im putting in the new turbo engine for a start going to get the bodywork done when its back on the road so that'll be the last thing to do i guess. thats gonna be doing the dent in the drivers door, rust on the passenger door, rear arches will need replacing and front wings replaced and front bumper will be painted as well cos the new bumper has been cut in places to make the intercooler pipes fit the new front pipe i have is also to big to fit the old exhaust as its like twice the bore! :S so im gonna get it big bore all the way through... yahooo
  9. Bought my vr6 last year in april and obsolutely loved it! but there was a few things needed doing to it and i was gonna sell it but i thought why not start a project! Its a 2.8, has 2.9 corrado gearbox, 11mm HT leads, air filter and full stainless exhaust with decat. Took it to santa pod and ran a 14.9 heres the old girl As you can see theres some rust issues! but thats gonna be sorted at some point i jacked it up last year to have a look under neath and the jack went straight through the floor!!! i was gutted! i got both new seals and welded up and a patch welded in the passenger
  10. possibly, or maybe mk5 tdi?
  11. would a diesel gearbox fit?
  12. Hello everyone got myself a turbo vr engine which im putting into my vr6 and i wanted to sort out this bloody annoying gear selecting problem! selecting gear is not how it should be, feels like it sloshes into gear rather than a nice slide in motion... if that makes any sense :S ive been told its something inside the gear box but ive also been told its the linkage... any ideas?
  13. any more updates??? loving the build! have got myself a vr6 turbo engine, am collecting after xmas! cant wait
  14. yeh thats what i thought about the 4wd, i love the look but needs more power! seen 500bhp r32 on youtube, well quick! but i guess i'll have a re think on the engine swap. have you got it in bits then? :S
  15. Anything done to yours??? mine is: 60ft - 2.39 1/4 - 14.90 94.30mph
  16. well i drove a mk4 r32 and my vr6 felt just as quick... if not quicker actually :S i thought it'd be easier cos i already have the vr engine. would love to know the power its doing, i done a 14.9 sec at santapod a couple weeks ago and that was with nearly a full tank of petrol is that your vr6 in the pic? if it is.. it looks a beast!
  17. oh right you wreckon its not worth it? i do like the mk3... but i would prefer a nice powerful mk4 with the vr engine.. i wanted to bore it out to maybe a 3 litre, turbo it etc. i saw one vr6 with 650hp!
  18. Hellooooo every1 got a question for all you petrol heads i have a mk3 2.8 vr6 with some mod's on it (11mm HT leads, lightened flywheel, lowered 50mm springs, 2.9 corrado gearbox with full straight through exhaust and decat pipe and wrapped downpipe), but i want to do some serious work on the vr6 engine, to up the horsepower! (wont go into details) and i then want to put that engine in my mk4 golf... including the 2.9 corrado box. can this be done easily? or are there lots of modifications i have to do? i'd appreciate any comments cheeers people!
  19. 650bhp!! i want that in my car! :'(
