I have just fitted and bled up a replacement rear caliper which works fine on the pedal. The hand brake is on full adjustment but still not operating. Does anyone know why?

My windows are still opening on their own - so far I have checked every post on this site and tried every option, replacement module in boot. disconmnect switch at back of key barrels one by one and all together. none of these work. I have checked wiring for broken wires and suspect that the yellow and back one in each front door is broken as it does not bell out on the meter? Does anyone know what it is as on the drivers door it goes to the door mirror adjustment switch and on the passenger door it goes to straight to the plug on the window regulator? Hi Gicho, I have the same problem with my car and as yet have not found he problem. Tried disconnecting the alarm/immobliser system and checked wiring in doors but nothing has solved it. How are you getting on with yours, have you found the problem and if so what was it? Tom

Help? My 1996 Highline Golf VR6 has started to open its windows at random occasions such as during the night. So far I have had the alarm/immobiliser disconnected thinking that it was due to malfunction of this but it is still doing it? I was also told that it may be the control module that does the central locking situated in the boot but having looked at this I am not convinced as it and all electrical contacts around it look in good condition. Please help has any one suffered the same problem?

I am having trouble getting my vr6 to go into 1st gear,5th sometimes and also reverse. My car has done 220 thousand miles. I believe that the set up from the gearlever to the gearbox is by cable. Having looked at it there seems to be some adjustment available at the gearbox end within the engine bay. Can anybody offer some advise? Tom
