    couple of minor updates.... Standard airbox fitted, will have a panel filter as soon as i get a chance a better picture of the High Rollerz door pins Cleaned the wheels inside out, cleaned the calipers, cleaned the coilies and wound them down for more lows Which resulted in me no longer being able to reverse in my drive without scraping the ground... might have to park on the road! Will get some proper pics of the ride height when i can, gunna try and get it as low as possible whilst still just about drivable over this weekend.

    Okj a few minor issues, haven't got the money to get the car on Vagcom til months end so thought i may be able to get some answers here 1 - When i switch the car off, whether im driving for 5 hours or 5 seconds the fan cuts in, but only when i switch off? 2 - Temp gauge not working (don't know if this is linked to point 1) 3 - seem to occasionally have some sort of whirring, almost like a noisy pump? not always but sometimes, comes on and off, even with the car off, have to re start the car to stop it? 4 - Also seem to have a minor misfire, very minor just backfires a little at times, the car'

    Cheers for the comments guys caddyslammed the CL's were masked then the top strip tinted with red spray (could do this with red lamin x if wanted) then smoked lamin x on the middle strip

    Right this is overdue for an update tbh, theres only been a few minor changes but they make a decent difference i think Rear Bench After a scrappy visit i found a Golf with highline leather fitted, these have full black leather, less buckety fronts but have headrests in the rear which the recaros don't. After a quick word i managed to arrange swapping my non headrest and slightly worn rear bench and a fiver with the mint Highline bench! haha! Also note this wasn't even intentional, i was just after the heated loom and switch from this car, which they ended up chucking in free! So now i have r

    Tail lights look good mark I got a set of CL's tinted the tops red then did the centre bit (reverse light) with lamin-x smoke film, basically cheap red/smoke/red

    Maf made a big difference on mine unplugged so eliminates that still have a slight tap, almost sounds like low oil tap and very minimal misfire, but im wondering if this is the original coilpack slightly playing up

    dont know about the temp sensor, ill give the old plug a go0 again after a clean up as the new plug is slightly different. hopefully diagnostioc will bring up some ideas as to the problems... grrr lol

    well the saga continues.... The lead for 6 was fine, so checked the plug, plug was coated in oil? don't know what this means? anyway fitted a new plug and still had same issues. So just out of curiosity tried the old cracked coilpack, and it runs much better, theres still the odd backfire and it idles slightly lower than it should but its drivable at the moment at least so its going on dignostic asap to see if anything else could be linked... ive also still got the fan issue doing my head in too

    hmm ill try checking the lead and the plug, i bought NGK iridiums through fleabay listed for the VR and assumed they were pre-gapped so i guess that could be my issue. Ill have a look see! thanks for your help

    tried without the Maf and its worse lol, however just unplugged each lead from the coilpack one by one whilst running all of them spark and change the idle pattern except lead 6, does not appear to spark nor does the idle change? does this mean anything

    cars OBD2, also to note the fan has suddenly started coming on for ages and then eventually turning off, even if its only briefly started

    Basically my VR has been running really quite badly previously, firstly it was on and off, now it seems to be constant, symptoms are as follows 1 - Rough idle, exhaust will sound like its missing even whilst driving 2 - Backfiring of exhaust on downchanges and on non acceleration 3 - Drinking fuel 4 - Noticable loss of power 5 - Will sometimes try and stall when in neutral and clutch in I believed it to be the coilpack so replaced today with a brand new patent part, however the issue is still there, have checked my leads, have recently changed to iridium NGK plugs but these seemed to be runnin

    Currently my VR has fited a massive ITG foam filter, which feels like its suffering from heat soak. Therefore im trying to source a standard airbox then fit a decent panel filter for smoother power delivery and better engine tone rather than just loud noise lol. Which panel would people recommend? and where from for a competitive price? Thanks in advance!

    Ok so some updates that have happened over the past few weeks Recaro Interior Sourced some full leather black Recaro "Colour Concept" seats from a member of the swdubs forum. paid £250 but this was after winning a sub and selling it for £175 so really didn't have to pay out too much. There is minor damage on the drivers bolster which i will have repaired but i am considering re-trim options for next year anyways. How i drove home from Somerset Fitted Not pictured are also the Leather door cards and Leather rear bench. Feels much smarter inside now whilst still feeling very OE Plates.... W

    Caddy looks cracking. Remember buying the issue that this was on the co9ver of, read through the entire feature and absolutely loved the way its come toegther. Awesome stuff
