  1. Thanks for the replies, I've seen some for the R32 on eBay but wasn't sure that it would fit. As for the 15mm spacers I was thinking about getting some but I'm concerned about additional stress being put on the dogbone mount due to it being constantly at an angle.
  2. i had a parcel arrive today which should make a big improvement. i recently had the car alignment checked and set up at TTS roadsport and they found that i had a bit more camber on the nearside than the offside. after they did what they could i decided to order these soon i'll have them fitted with the rear camber/toe set up just right so it should handle even better!
  3. As a mk4/Bora owner I'm aware that on lowered cars the sump is ripe for some potentially expensive abuse. The sump on my V6 Bora has been on the receiving end of a minor battering and is now weeping a small amount of oil from a very small crack. I have a few questions..... firstly, are the V6 sumps on the AUE engine the same as the ones on the R32 and if they are then would one from a 3.2 TT/S3 fit? secondly, apart from the stealers where would be a good place to buy a new sump for a reasonable price? Many thanks, Karl
  4. car looks good mate have you noticed more frequent trips to the petrol pumps since having it mapped?
  5. we need pictures!! just out of interest though, how much was the remap?
  6. today saw me attacking the car with a load of torx bits..... joey mod time! i'm happy with the results, what does everyone else think?
  7. full time 4wd?? i'm liking the sound of that, i was looking into getting the blue haldex controller. there are a few bora 4motions for sale on ebay but they are rarer than the golf as VW imported less than 150 into the uk
  8. oh yes' date=' with a coat of shiney lacquer too! yay, i've been spotted!! this is the second mk4 based car i've had..... i had a LCR before and i really like them both, both respond well to minor mods especially in the handling department. but i suppose if its a company car you will be leaving it alone though. next time you see me give us a wave/flash/toot!
  9. i got my wheels back today after having them refurbed at www.wheelgenie.co.uk to say that i'm happy with them is an understatement.
  10. just a very small update, i'm once again rocking the OE 16's...... the S3 ronals are finally going in for a refurb, YAY!! so soon i'll have shiney new wheels that won't let the car down.
  11. i returned to the car this morning after having a think over a cuppa. as the car wasn't making any noise when i drove it i didn't think the bearing had gone..... especially on both sides. i checked the nut on both hubs and they were both loose!!! so i've done them both up b'stard tight (that is the technical term) and there is now no wheel wobble and with the new droplinks there is no knocking too.
  12. i've owned my Bora 4motion since february and it has made a knocking noise from the front ever since the initial test drive (i got money off because of it) so, since february i've changed the ARB's for H&R jobbies all round, new top mounts when i fitted coilovers and this still didn't cure the knocking.so today i fitted new droplinks but i can't tell if this has helped because i've discovered that both front wheel bearings are knackered! there is MASSIVE play when the car is jacked up and the wheel is wobbled from top to bottom. my question is this...... are the front bearings best left to
  13. thanks for the link. i had a "knocking" on my car when i took it for the test drive and assumed it was the ARB bushes. after replacing the bushes with H&R ARB's and not getting rid of the noise i replaced the shocks/springs for coillies with new OE top mounts..... great handling with added knocking. oh how i wish i'd replaced the drop links first.
  14. i'm reluctant to go F/I as i've been there and done that and am liking N/A at the moment. i've been doing some research and have spoken to a few people about the uprated haldex controller and i like what i've heard. most of my mods so for have been handling orientated and i think it would be a worth addition.
  15. thanks for all the positive comments! i'm loving the massive levels of grip this car gives, it really is difficult to upset with all the suspension mods, wider wheels and decent tyres. with it not being permanent 4WD i've really only noticed the rear end doing it's thing a couple of times. i need an uprated haldex controller to make more use of the rear axle!! it's so much better to drive quickly on roads (where the law allows obviously) than my old evo, no AYC trying to kill you whenever it feels like it.
  16. with all that sorted i could get round to spending more money on the car. here is a quick list of what has been done so far. black OE front grill LED sidelights and rear numberplate lights aero wipers stubby S2000 aerial ferodo DS pads all round with new discs H&R 10mm spacers on the rear H&R arb's front and rear JOM coilovers with new top mounts alpine CDE-W203Ri double din headunit 2x10 inch rockford fosgate subs with rockford fosgate amp OE carbon fibre gearknob (from a VW sharan) 3M carbon vinyl to replace all the wood look trim neuspeed cold air induction kit new headunit, kno
  17. i fitted an alpine ipod headunit which some smackhead decided i didn't need anymore so they thoughtfully did this to the drivers door the picture doesn't tell the full story, there was a lot of damage to the door around the handle which wasn't cheap to sort out door handle & delock kit from VW £77 new rear quarter window £40 bodyshop paint & labour £300 new alpine CDE-W203Ri stereo £185
  18. as i'm new to the forum i feel obliged to post up a thread for my Bora 4motion, so here goes..... My return to VAG ownership has resulted in me travelling down to the new forest to have a look at a VW Bora 4-motion. i was hooked after the test drive and a deal was done. compared to what i was driving before the Bora is really comfortable with loads of effortless torque. plus, in this i'm not so tempted to drive like a loony all the time.
