    No wet carpets and no sign of any previous problems . Looking through history and the engine was rebuilt back in late 2006 quiet alot of major work new head and bottom end and then in mid 2007 engine was instald back in car 98618 on clock then and i got it with 113105 on it so 15000 miles since rebuild all parts new with rebuild so ive no idea now lol

    cheers m8 seems to be ok though stops on its own so should be ok, i will double check though just to be sure. first time ive had the pleasure of a VR6 engine so bit green still but im sure ill get the hang of it all. thnx again

    Thanks for the info, I guess the garage i got it from havent worked on any VR's before not knowing this and thought it was faulty so just disconected it to stop it running.

    I hear ya, still dont get why the secondary pump was disconected though and what kind of damage this would cause. i checked the oil cap and there was no mayo there so just gonna do a few more checks first.

    Well got the VR 2 day so thought what the hell take it for a spin, I was only out for About 10 mins got some petrol noticed water temp light flashin so went strieght home. When I got back opened the bonnet to find the expansion tank spewing and hissin , the fans had been cuttin in and out. Thinking this was a bit strange remembered the second water pump ( small electric thing) found that had been disconected for some reason so reconnected it .Within a couple of sec's the expansion tank was empty , so topped it up and left it to cool down.     Question I have a 4 7x16 BBS 2peice 5x100, I bought them a few years ago and they were in need of of a referb, so I had them stripped in a chemical bath. I started to strip them down and ran into some problems broken studs, striped heads and and some corrosion and so on. Im now looking for good advice and reputable place to get them refebed the right way. (Bristol Area and close buy)
