Pissed off doesn't even come close I've just unpacked the box of packaged parts which the body shop removed and found more damage. If anyone has or knows where I can get these looms window regulators lock mechs or window seals in good condition it would be much appreciated.

The window seals have been bent up so even when straightened out are kinked and look/ fit awful.

Had to arrange and pay for recovery back to mine to after being threatened by the part owner who said he would take a hammer to it. IMG_1632.MOV

Inside the sills are filled with mig wire Edit On pulling the masking tape off gently the paint comes straight with it. This is inside the door the same has happened on the bonnet and door apertures.

Thats awful, people need to know exactly what these places are like. There are still stone chip marks under the new paint on the bonnet on mine but thats the least of my issues to be honest. the body shop - Auto body craft Unit 9 Double Arches Farm Eastern Way Heath and reach Leighton buzzard LU7 9LF http://www.autobodycraft.co.uk/locations.html I advise everyone to avoid using this body shop on basis that the work is horrendous and the part owner is very aggressive. In my case he went to the extent of criminal damage b

The body shop in question have been horrendous, went down to give the final payment and noticed the filler cap repair had a paint lip visible on the rear quarter, the tailgate plinth had cobwebs stuck in the paint and wasn't even fully painted. The part owner of the shop lashed out and threatened to smash the car up after I mentioned the two above things that I wanted fixing before final payment. The signed Contract says they didn't want payment untill I was satisfied with the work. Will give full details of the 'bodyshop' when I have my car back. I stripped the entire car bar the t

Just done them using a Fly press- make sure lip is engaged all the way round, make sure the bush is the correct way round aswell !

Are you struggling to refit the washers ?

Unfortunately things aren't doing so well on the bodywork front. Following suspicious inner sill repairs which, even after asking and supplying a camera didn't get photographed I'm at the stage where the main shell looks OK but at a closer look there's painted over rust , messy arch repairs which aren't even sealed, under seal which has been put on over thick mud - the list goes on. long time no update, after some hard saving the body shell is finally in for its restoration. @bennyk was meant to be getting the job but with the logistics of me wanting to strip the car etc I had to use a body shop slightly closer to home! everything so far has been done myself excluding the repairs and paint. Progress so far - I've fully stripped the shell (bar wiring looms which are tucked out the way) Built a dolly for the shell to sit on for welding repairs and paint. Subframes wheels etc have all been blasted and powder coated. Headliner has been re-tri

front crossmember bushes
rsweeney replied to rsweeney's topic in Wheels, Brakes, Suspension and Steering
will be trying tomorrow but doesnt look promising using the part numbers on that diagram -
I need to order parts 3 and 4 in the diagram as i chucked these when removing the old bushes ready for powder coating! Does anyone know if these are still available or is it a case of finding another crossmember to remove these from. Tried the part numbers for both but no luck!

Oxygen sensor heater relay - 12V Golf VR6
rsweeney replied to rsweeney's topic in Engine Maintenance and Problems
Heated oxygen sensor circuit is fitted with a single mounted relay above the fuse box , number 53 - it's the same as the horn relay and you can swap these two to eliminate the relay as the problem!
