Mines noisey most of the time, you only here it when itson tick over or going down a narrow street, with the window down if that makes sense, but this car was stood for a year not been used before i bought it
-
just wodered how many others on here had noisey lifters and if it was a common thing, i have 1 at the rear drivers side of the engine that just wont quiet down. And really to see if anyone had any ideas on what to do about it.

i agree with the above mine is a 95 obd1 with 288 mm brackes, later abs, go of the throttle body as you can be definate then.

Well took the top of the pump after scrolling through some other sites and found that the bushes where very dirty and not making contact well,so after alot of fiddling and cleaning my pump is working again for now, so will have to get another next week, the link i found on these was quite useful. http://forums.fourtitude.com/showthread.php?3038022

I know this may be a daft question, im under the impression from my limited sense on mechanics that this should operate all the time, am i wrong in thinking this and does it only come on at certain temps

Noticed today that when i started the car the secondary waterpump did not kick in, upon inspection i cleaned the plug and it worked, Is this a sign of it starting to fail and if so will it do any damage if it fails whislst im driving the car? I know they about 70 quid from the main stealers as an exchange unit, any advice welcome

Noticed that afew people on here have bought of have been talking about these and just wondered if anyone has got these fitted as im looking to lower my vr and these seem to be a very reasonable way of doing it and they are also at a good price
-
But most of the springkits say from91-94 and 94-97, i know mine crosses over but surly if the car was made in 95 then i want the later kit, dont i?
-
Just to shed some light on this have been in touch with vdub and they say that the car was made in 1995 around the beggining of june, so the dvla must have made a mistake when they gave it the plate as it was originally from jersey, but the car is an obd1 with coil pack, which i dont understand, indicators are the obd1 rectangular ones, i also check under things like the ashtray as they normally have the year of manufacture stamped in them which verifies what vw have said, so looks like problem solved just dont get how it is an obd1, not 2!

Any other ideas welcomed cheers
