Got followed this dinner time by a mint looking Dragon Green Corrado VR6 in the Brierley Hill/Quarry Bank area of the West Midlands. Looked a really nice, clean motor and I hae seen this a few times. Just wandered if the owner was registered on here. And by the way I was in the Dragon Green Golf VR6.

Temperature guage question
Deano2711 replied to Deano2711's topic in Engine Maintenance and Problems
Thanks for the replies. Looks like I need to flush the system again. I am pretty sure the termostat is working as when I checked the top and bottom hose were hot which means the water is flowing ok. I just find it strange that the fans don't kick in until it hits 105. -
Temperature guage question

Whats the difference Mate ?? The VR has it's original twin fan set up on the front. The old GTI had a single fan. Pretty new to the VR6 world so might sound a bit dumb here -
I have recently upgraded my 8v GTI to a VR6 and am loving the car. However, within the first couple of days the heater pipe at the top of the engine developed a very small hole and the car lost all it's water. I then developed an airlock and had this sorted by the RAC man that came out to me. It's been running ok for about a week since. Then had a big problem with wires burning out at the rear of the dash so sent it to an electrician for repairs. Since having it back it's been great. Runs at 90 degrees on the guage which is where my GTI stopped as well. When I stop in traffic or whereever afte

My new VR6 replacing the 8v

Not planning too much for this one Buddy. Pressed plates are a must and toying with the idea of a Vento front but not sure yet. Tempted to leave it as is really. -
Well I recenty signed up on here and upgraded to a VR6 from my beloved 8v and the VR is taking over my affections. Here are some pictures of it after I put some original wheels back on and put the dee splitter back on and then gave it a damn good clean inside and out. Now it feels more like my motor and I am looking forward to driving to work tomorrow for a change.

I have a 95 GTI 8v which is insured through Heritage Classic Car Insurance for 352 p/annum. Just bought a 95 vr6 and they charged me 392 p/annum. Both with 3000 miles per year. They wanted 701 p/annum for my old Mark 4 GTI 2 ltr 8v so I have a bargain I thinks ?? I am 34 years old with 1 years no claims and live in an ok area. Give them a try as I found them very helpful. Quotes available online. Cheers
