Hi all, I have a 1992 mk3 golf vr6 with a raceland 6 branch stainless manifold on. The manifold is then hooked up to a hollow centre box followed by the rear silencer. So I only have one silencer on the whole setup. I dont know why it has a hollow centre section as this fitted before i bought the car. One thing is for sure though..... it is rather loud! Dont get me wrong it sounds awesome but on long journeys and motorways its hard work. Does anyone know where I can buy a silenced centre pipe just to take the drone away or one that would fit from another car? Thanks, Jim

Chaps, I have just finished rebuilding my VR6 engine and have realized I have 3 clamps / mounts left. Unfortunately I cant remember where the buggers went. Can anyone shed any light on this for me either with a picture of their own engine or just give me a pointer? Picture attached. http://www.petercliff.co.uk/VR6/clamps.JPG Thanks, Jim

Hi all, I have a snapped coil over spring on my nearside front MK3 VR6. Problem is.... I am unsure of the manufacure of the coil over kit and so cant order a replacement spring. The kit was fitted before I bought the motor and there is no additional paper work or markings on the strut. I do however have some pictures of the strut assembly and snapped spring, hopefully someone will be able to identify the manufacturer for me. http://www.petercliff.co.uk/VR6/coil/DSC00001.jpg http://www.petercliff.co.uk/VR6/coil/DSC00002.jpg http://www.petercliff.co.uk/VR6/coil/DSC00003.jpg http://www.petercliff

Early AAA VR6 Engine Timing

Thanks for the feedback chaps. V6Horse how did you double check using the intermediate sprocket? I think ill just use the dial gauage option on cylinder one. Should both cam locking slots be dead horizontal? -
Hello all, I currently have the engine dropped out of my mk3 VR6 so I can give it a good overall. Milage is currently on 136k and as expected she has lived up to the notorious wearing upper tensioner rail, its literally eaten 90% of the way through. Anyway I am after some advice........ I have turned the engine over and over by hand to make sure the timing points match up. However I cant find the notch on the lower crank pulley to match it to the little line mark on the block. I have locked the cams off using 3mm plate and made sure piston 1 is at TDC so I know everything is locked off as inte

Electric Windows - Connector Pin Details
jim_cliff11 posted a topic in I.C.E, Security an Electrical
Hi all, Does anyone have pin details for the leccy window switches and motor connectors? Or even better a wiring diagram? My passenger side window has an intermittant fault. It works fine then sudddenly stops. Then after fondling the switch (either drivers switch or passenger switch) it will start working again.Checked earths, power, switches themselves, no broken wires, fuses fine. It really is completely random. Drivers side works fine. Cheers, Jim -
Hi guys, I've just signed upto the forum after recently purchasing a 1992 Golf VR6, and am in need of some expert help! Basically I bought my car roughly 5 months ago now and it has some major wiring issues which need addressing. However I've found numerous wires which have been snipped completely and am unable to identify them. I havent done much wiring work on a Golf before so not to sure. I have found one complete loom snipped, consisting of around 7 or 8 wires. The loom starts by the steering column and runs accross below the radio and splits into the bulkhead and into the passenger door
