Keys turned up now!! He put them in the bin! Makes me want to get another key sorted though, is new locks or £170 the only way to get a new key for a car built over 15 years ago?
Just rang Wolverhampton VW and they no longer support this key type. They gave me the number of another company who are a mobile service and want £170 to come out and programme another key!!!! Any other suggestions, by PM if needs be would be appreciated. Cheers
So my two year old has decided to hide my keys (my own fault for putting them down!). I've got a spare key which opens all doors and turns ignition on, but it's not programmed to the ecu. Is my only option to get a new key programmed by VW or is it possible to temporarily disarm the immobiliser until they turn up?
We went last weekend and were camping next to the VR6OC. As much as I was looking forward to meeting some of you guys you did the right thing by not going. Both our pitch and yours were totally waterlogged and we ended up coming home Saturday night!
Ok, it's been a while but i've got myself one of these fault code readers of eBay. The ABS hasn't made the grinding noise for a few weeks but the light is now on constantly. I've plugged the diagnostic in and it came back with no codes! Any other way of working out which sensor has gone?
VR6 passed MOT this week which I was chuffed about, but two days after the ABS light came on but with no other problems. Today I put my foot on the break and got a grinding noise from the wheel and vibration on the pedal. Kept coming and going. Any ideas before i start poking about? Just done a quick search on here and there's loads about ABS sensors but I'm guessing it's a bit more!!
Cheers. I think it's just come off at the bottom as water is falling into the passenger footwell. I've had a quick look and it looks like the blower is in the way so that might need to come out.
Cheers fella, this was the problem, both were blocked. I've cleared them now and water is running well through the driver's side but it looks like the pipe has come off on the passenger side. What's the best way of re-attaching this pipe?
Found a small split in my sunroof seal, meaning everytime it rains i'm greeted with a puddle in the drivers footwell! Are these easy to replace? Where's the best place to pick one up from? Cheers
.....and it don't work! Opens the doors and turns the engine over, but it cuts out immediately. Is there a chip or something in the original key? Is it a dealer only option to get a new one?
Easy to change mate, just make sure you get it all routed the right way. If you live in Wolves as in Wolverhampton I've got a bolt which is the perfect length for the tensioner if you need it
