rear window heater not working

flushed the martrix out today i dont even think it was blocked so filled the car back up with water turned heaters on 4 and left cap off for 10 minutes and still got no hot air,i have messed with the heat setting and whats happening if i have the dial setting between hot and cold then turn straight to full cold the air blows out full bore on screen dash etc then turn it back to half way then turn to full heat and the air coming out of vents is reduced rapidily hardily any air comes out i am begging to think its the heater dials now but they seen solid and turn fine any idears what the problem -

hi yep theres no air getting to the window sayimg that i have a problem with my main heaters only blowing warmish air out i have been told the system will be blocked at the matrix could this be linked? so thats another job,i aint had the dreaded wayer leak in passenger footwell so hopfully just a unblock required,any advise on sorting this much apreciated i have had a nightmare trying to clear windows through winter,i aint no machanic but have sorted other jobs out thanks to this site cheers -
hi can anyone help me with my rear heater problem the swich lights up fine when pressed but not air getting to the window,been a while since iv been on here loving the new site cheers

how much we taking for tappets and labour rougly guna go ahead and get it done if it fails its gettin burned for a claim

ok what is a vw specialist suppose to be what do they look like lol,the only reason i took it to the dealers is because no machanic on the planet knows whats going on with my car if any of you guys knows someone who does know what they are doing then dont hesitate in sending me there number if its near my area that is,

had the car in vw for a check on the tapping noise i am still having along with diognostic check and inspection,my brother took the car in as i was at work and when i got back and read the results it says the following,no faults in memory noise coming from top of engine possible work hydraulics advise customer to try hydraulic rejuvenator fluid,no faults in memory relating to worn chain,does anyone know how and were to apply this fluid? cheers guys

slight revs 1200 rpm the noise starts and then the more it revs up the quicker the bursts with the same sound car sounds awfull and is turning heads for all the wrong reasons,local machanics are clueless around my area so going to ring vw and see how much they charge for a inspection il go up to £50 taken the money spent on it getting it right upto more money than i actualy bought the car for then goin off there news will depend on weather i keep it or not iv come to the end of my teather with it, a big lesson learned,also good thinking vr owner cud be worth a go

i cant hear no noise coming from the tensioner tho mate the belt and mech look and sound good if someone can put up a numbered diagram of this side of the engine i would pin point it straight away

yep will do,the noise is above the belt tensioner pulley system and to the side of the camshaft breather pipe in the block i recently greased up the tensioner with bearing grease me thinking this was the problem, the noise statrts at slight revs and speeds up with increased accelaration more so when actualy driving the car

went the a so called vw specialist who was polish and he could hear the noise but seemed clueless of a solution and just said its seems ok, a complete joker,then i took it to another garage and he said it was the timing chain. but the noise is defernatly coming from above the belt tensioner pullley i said to the guy the chains are on the other side of the car near the gearbox but was adiment it was above the pulley can anyone confirm this? really stuck now also performance is bad now.cheers

just beginning to wonder if my bearings are crap altogether and greasing them was pointless,guna take it to a local vw specialist satdi just for a inspection see what he says

cheers guys,the noise is weird imagine grit flicking up under the car when you drive over it,its that sound for like 3 seconds then it goes for like 2 seconds then the identical noise is back,in this same pattern constant,and it does sound like its coming from the right hand side of the air filter behind the block as well

done the oil and filter change still the same christ what the hells up with these things?@ iv spent more time on here than driving the thing

i have read this story today which is terrible and to be honiest i would of killed the fker at the scene with bear hands if id of witnessed it,but on a lighter note were is this vr he was driving? was he a member?

ok thanks,just a quick one pointless stating new thread,i have a 6 branch manafold and noticed bolts screwed into the piplines near the top i have 3 bolts screwed in and 3 are missing is this normal?cant be doin the performance any good

i bought some 10x40 full syntetic oil today is it safe to use with the vr i know people say use the semi stuff but there was none in the garage i got it from plus it was free as wud just tell work it was for the van

did the tensioner today perfect job and i still have this tapping sound which does sound like the tappets not sure tho,what should i check next guys full oil change it does look quite black and dirty and the guy i bought it off overfilled it its 1cm past the max on the dip also when starting engine sounds a bit slower and lifeless than normal

cheers i have changed the fan module for what i think is a working one and i did make the mistake of buying the wrong one at the start however i have a crusty contact on the big connector were the previous module blew on one of the pins,i have changed the brown sensor and am going to get the other 2 along with a new rad switch and see what happens -
is obd1 tensioner same as obd2? have chance of a reburb one

fans kick in accordingly at past 90 and will not turn themselves off whilst the car is moving but if i pull over the fans will turn off after a few minutes then i will set off then there straight back on all the way through the drive,also fans will turn off when ignition is turned off i have no after run fans when the engine is turned off,cheers for coolant guide vr
