  4. My 1995 vr6 supercharged at the moment will do about 600 km on a tank motorway use when I drive between Holland and the uk via calais its lovely. I cannot complain with its motorway economy but town use it is horrible . I can maybe see 150 - 200 km on a full tank but then again there are allot of stop starts involved . When I first got the car it was running rubbish and would get if im lucky 400 km on a full tank . after a revised cylinder head , the supercharger new fuel pump and filter and a very nicely tuned ecu from the vr6specialist i gained around 200 km on a tank motorway use .   5. As far as im aware the largest wheel size you can go in the vr6 is with 17inch . i have some brock 17s with 225 45 17 tyres and even after the arches were rolled its still rubbing so having to go to 215 40 17 to stop this . So i would defo so 18 wont fit .
  6. No Problem . I had the front of my car off this weekend as i needed to change the thermostat housing and for the life of me couldnt find any yellow plug on mine, and had no other black plugs apart from the 2 on the horn and 2 for the indicator and foglight . I did however not long ago remove the carbon canister and that did have a valve that did have a black plug if I remember correctly connected inbetween the canister to the inlet manifold . Other than that i cannot think what the black plug you have left is from . Good luck bud and loving a polo sedan vr6 :-)
  7. The header tank plug is black with a brown/red and blue/red wire on my obd1 car

  9. I Had that lambda fault once . and i believe i had to change it and it was gone .. but not 100% sure it was that code . and what is the Max engine speed exceeded ? i havent seen that one befor on mine anyways and i have had most lol
  10. the one i got that replaced my broken one has the Same partnumber on Top just with the Letter A after it but the lower part number is different and it only has 2 fuses where as mine had 3 . it works but the fan will only engage at full speed so do need to find a replacement . If anyone has a fan control unit with the following numbers . 357 919 506 Top Big numbers 89 8718 000 lower Smaller Numbers If anyone has one with this please let me know what you want for it . Hello mate . the top one could either be the double horn or the foglight . thats the only connectors near there on mine with this type . the horn should have 2 of these connected as its a double horn system atleast on mine . cant tell you what the otherone is as i dont have any that color on my headlight loom . Hope this helps a little
  12. Hi Guys , My fan control has decided to start smoking on me and as soon as the battery is connected the fans turn on and nice smoke comes from the mod , i know a guy who has 1 but wanted to know if the part numbers must match exactualy . Need to know as soon as possible . Cheers

  15. Hello Guys , Just got my car back from the body shop thanx to a bus driver pulling out while i was passing and smashing the rear quater panel . I need to replace the sills as the previous owner had crushed and torn them . Where would i find replacement sills and how do i go about replacing them ? Cheers
  16. cheers for the info . Was just wondering but lately my plans have changed and the vr will be off the road for a while. so going to build a turbo motor for it and will most likely have my v2 charger setup up for sale in the next few months .
  17. Hi guys , Going to be upgrading my supercharger pulley soon with a 11 psi , currently running 6 psi . Anyways I know that currently without running a intercooler I have a recirc valve fitted , but once the intercooler is in place would i Still be running the recirc or would it be a vent to atmos .   19. My crank pulley also didnt have the timing notch . i just set visualy cylinder 1 to tdc and then double check using the intermidiate sprocket to be sure . I have to say it is a pain in the arse tbh .
  20. Im running a v2 charger , had to drill a hole in the chassis leg . simple to do and you can get it nice and clean if you line it up nice the first time . Dont forget to leave room for some movement for when you tension the belt . I made that mistake and had to make the hole wider for it to clear when tensioning the belt .
  21. When i changed to braided brake lines i just bleed all the brakes and the clutch to be sure as it runs off the brake fluid . everything still working to date and this was a good few months ago
  22. Like the clocks . As for the safeguards I was talking about the knock sensor etc . Does the standalone support them ? I was informed that most standalones do not .
  23. I found my stock ecu does well with just a good chip and remap . wont you lose most of the safeguards that you stock ecu has with a standalone one ? Im running custom chip with my supercharger and works perfect . when i was considering changing the ecu i was advised by the vr6specialists to keep the stock ecu as it can cope with anything providing you put the custom chip and find a good mapper .
