hi people

thanks

hi people
on my mk1 build im goin to have to put a rad in the boot as there is simply no room up front as i want to keep a FMIC i even bought a small one to place over the gearbox area but think it looks to cramped and wont get a good enough air flow with out building a ducting system witch i dont want under the bonnet. has any one done a build with it in a boot ? my main worries are the water flow and air pockets. would the standard water pump and the external (electric one it comes with) by the rad up the back be man enough to do the system
any info would be appreciated

ah okay, do u litrally just cut them to length and then sleeve them or that and do they need balancing ?
-
really if so il defo try and hunt one down lol i was goin to just make mounts for the mk4 suspension and you used your mk3 subframe up front ? what length did you have to shorten the O/S driveshaft down to ?
-
im not to sure, would like to find out as that would save a headake lol
-
ah yeah i rember you showed me how you kept the subframe straight with the threaded bar, that helped alot thanks matey, and just questions like weather to keep the mk4 subframe or try and find a syncro subframe, cant seem to find any tho
-
and also if any one has done this conversion before could you contact me please. need to pick your brains about a couple of things

cheers thats kind of what i needed to know

hi people
basically im at the point of buying the 4wd set up, im using a Xreg v6 4mo for the parts, my main concern is is the year the one that hold the rear haldex and to put in a very crude way the haldex where i can put a live to it on a switch so i can choose when i want it on or off ?
thanks
-
Ohh yeah lol the mot part I rely did not take into consideration lol and I'm sure the insurer will be fine with it lol
-
Okay thanks matey

Lol il move the pedals closer haha but what make s you say that ? Just out of interest and I'm guessing the brakes will be rock hard untill they get heat in them, is that right ?
-
lol thats what i was thinking
-
hi
im currently puutin all my vrt set up in the mk1 and got my eyes set on a motorsport floor mounted type pedal box, i undestand when u get some heat in the brakes they are much more useable but when the brakes are cool will it be like standing on a peice of wood, for a scenario crusing along the motor way and i have to brake suddenly are they goin to work the same as if it was off a servo ? as i dont want to have to use one if poss
any advice would be appreciated
-
no worries i found some on your posts
-
okay yeah cool and yeah i mentioned charge coolers to some people and they turned up there nose lol, did u set up the rear like the front and have you any piks of that please matey ?
cheers
-
That looks very smart mate and yeah I was thinking of a intercooler there but was worried about down sizing and loosing power, and I would love to 4wd mine but was unsure on how easy in respect to the front getting the rear subframe on etc and yeah It will be more just for fun but do want to take it on a few track days
-
Yeah that's why I wanted to keep mine mate and thanks that's rely helpful to look at, do your wheels sit centre in the arches and have you got enuf room for a rad and inter cooler at the front still and how dose it handle and do u regret using it in that shell ?
Thanks
-
Thanks mate I will and its abit late for that now lol but I will ask him and make a thread on it when I've done it

Hi guys
Has any one on here built A mk1 VR using the mk3 subframe, I'm at the stage where I'm trying to aline the subframe and wondered if any one can help with how you measured it so it was straight and weather you took camber caster and all that into consideration and how dose it drive ? Or am I goin to regret doin this
Thanks
