hi I had the same thing, get the one that's not immobilised. its from early cars so hard to find otherwise I think its about £100 to swap it from car to car, I mean someone chips it to your key and ignition ring.

as title i have a dizzy golf vr6 obd1 head, just wondering are coilpack ones the same as there will be no drive to run the dizzy from a coilpack head?

does the timing chain cover need to be skimmed on a vr6?

cool i will be running a headspacer. its a obd2 head im getting rebuilt but i think it will go onto my obd1 block. hoping the cam cover is the same for both obd1 and obd2???? headgasket is weeping all around the block so thats why i want to change it all! -
ive got a good second hand cylinder head for my golf vr6. i cant take my head off as i need my car running for getting to work, so once vince at stealth racing has rebuilt this one, i will swap it over on my day off work. one thing do i need to get that timing chain cover skimmed aswel?? are all obd1 and obd2 covers the same?? if yes ill get one off ebay.

ive got a OBD1 golf vr6 as you know but i cant have it off the road for long as i need it for work! ive found a OBD2 head for sale for cheap! i am getting this rebuilt / skimmed etc............. will this fit on my OBD1 block?? i know there is something different about the top chains with one being a single chain and one being a double?? what about the side chain covers will that need to be skimmed or is it ok??

ive had my car 5 years and its doing it, this is usually the first point of HG failure, im taking my head off and getting it fully rebuilt. are you sure its torqued down correctly?
