sorry for the questions chaps, i don't come on here a lot. but the information i get is great! (as you know my vr6 headgasket is going) i will be super-charging in the future - stage 2! i know from vince @ stelath racing that its ok to run a standard headgasket on my stage 2 supercharger when eventually fitted. but for peace of mind i want to lower the compression, is it just a thicker metal gasket over the standard gasket? guess it will be ok to run it N/A for a while?? also where is best place to buy one? kind regards

just called vw and price was £211.74 inc vat for 20x headbolts and a headgasket. i cant see anywhere online on this crap phone that does arp headbolts?? see some on ebay but its only 12x of them where i think there are 20x headbolts if im right?? just wondering if standard genuine goods will handle a stage 2 supercharger??

thanks lukey, there is nothing wrong with any other pipes or hardware etc but i might change the crack pipe as it will be a front end off job again. ive got a set of new inlet manifold gaskets in the garage and a 6 branch exhaust so gaskets for the exhaust are not a concern. i can strip it all down no problem, its just the timing im not sure about as ive never done a vr6 before! would a standard genuine vw headgasket and standard bolts be ok for a stage 2 charger running 300bhp?

the headgasket is weeping coolant down the block on the 2.8 golf vr6, ive cleaned it thinking its the core plug but its not. what else should i replace once its all off?? all the chains and guides have been done 3 years ago! compression test is still showing 160psi and there is no water mixing with oil etc......... new headbolts - ARP?? genuine headgasket i get a bit of oily smoke when i start it up sometimes but it clears straight away, guides im guessing?? may as-well replace everything necessary while its apart! regards

hello peeps, had the front wheel bearings replaced 2 years ago. (y) but the whirring sound of a bearing has come back when going in a straight line, turn left slightly and the sound goes away turn right and sound is still there?? checked wheels for play and cant really feel anything. also when i go over a usual small pothole or bump in road i get a bang on the left side! looked at the wishbone etc for a perished bush but cant see anything, suspension isnt leaking either! any ideas? |-)
