  3. top man, think theres only one way the bearings go in by the looks of it, will compare with old ones, sorry for questions im just very cautious! done engines and gearboxes in past but never bearings on the rear!!
  4. cool that plastic cover you get in the bearing pack, i take it you press the big bearing in, put grease in it then the plastic cover on top from what i can guess?
  5. got the bearings, take it i need to use a lot of bearing grease with them?
  6. thanks buddy, just one thing, you adjust it by tightening that nut that the pin goes through right?
  7. ok fella, so you press the new bearings into the disk, fit the disk back onto the shaft and adjust them that way. just one thing how do you know when they are adjusted correctly? thanks.
  8. so do i need to tighten a new bearing up or will it be pre-done?
  9. got an advisory on mot on my vr6 rear bearing. are they easy to change? any special tools i need? how long am i looking at for both sides? thanking you and happy new year. :-)
  10. basically you have to pull it up quite a lot on my mk3 vr6 for it to lock nicely. how do you adjust it so its like 2 or 3 clicks so it engages properly. ive taken the center console out and see some 10mm nuts on the cables!
  11. is it just a hammer you use to tap the CV joint off? dont want to damage it! also will it just be hand pressure to put it back on the shaft?
  12. not the two flat faces, thats a new gasket, its blowing from the 6 branch, you know the 3 way adaptor that goes on it theres like a metal wire seal on that. put some high temp sealant on it, stopped most of the blowing but still blows a bit!
  13. alright peeps. my 6 branch racelands is blowing from the 3 bolt connector around the seal, can you get these new or would some high temperature silicone do the job? also ive got a split CV runner gaitor, how do you get the CV joint off?? i cant see no circlip holding it in???
  14. ok thanks guys, even though it sits halfway down it still retracts ok so i dont think a spring has come off as such? suprised nowone else has had this problem?
  15. Check throttle cable mate!! its brand new genuine VW!! was working well for a couple of months!
  16. anyone guys? this is how it sits now, it used to sit level with the clutch and brake pedal! you can pull it level with the clutch and brake but it just has a lot of play??? now it sits half way down it doesnt afect the idle though??
  17. hi peeps and lasses my golf vr6 has a hell of a lot of play in the throttle pedal, its almost halfway to the floor it sits now, so you can lift it with ease to the same height as the brake and clutch pedal, push it and it will fall back down to halfway point. :-)
