  1. Hi all After seeing another forum member using a fiat bravo side fill radiator I decided this was the option for me as my old rad and coolant tank was knackered plus the tank fouled my strut brace. After fitting the fiat rad on new mounts the cross beam the old rad sat on now fouls the lower coolant tank house. As I have used new mounts and also relocated the power steering pump cooler this cross beam seems to play no part now so I was wondering if I can remove it completely. The engine sits on its on beam and will still keep the strength so will I get away with binning it..... Also if I had
  2. Cheers for the reply.....I am still looking at this. There is lots of reading out there. There is a lot of sway towards the single turbo especially the setup you describe but what can I say bar its all about the looks...:-) only kidding it's all about the acceleration.
  3. cheers for that. If they don't fit and require a lot of machining I have been eyeing up some twin turbo manifolds on ebay.de but I'm not quite sure what quality they will be and they state 2.8,2.9 and 3.2.......
  4. is that the 1.2 petrol fiat bravo? did it take much to fit it? and did you have any cooling issues with it or need to change the pressure cap? sorry for the questions but it's one of the things stopping me getting mine running....
  5. great post and the car is looking good but can I ask where you got your side fill rad from as I am looking at fitting one to mine.
  6. I meant to ask but you don't know the measurements for the vr6 exhaust flange by anychance.
  7. cheers for the reply. I'll see if I can find a part number for one on the internet. Its a choice between the k03s or I have the chance of a pair of t28s from a nissan 200sx. I don't mind a bit of machining so no doubt one pair will get fitted...
  8. Hi I posted this on another forum but thought I might get a better reply here so has anyone got a ko3s turbocharger lying around that can do some measurements for me please..... I am looking for the some measurements from the part that fits to the exhaust manifold specifically: (pic found on internet and not a turbo I have sitting about) flange outer measurement - circled red hole to hole spacing - circled green the exhaust gas turbine diameter - circled yellow And if anyone has a vr6 exhaust manifold lying about could I get the corresponding measurements from that aswell please... Cheers Ry
  9. which kit did you use? and where did you get it from? I want to do this to my vr...did you poly bush it all or use poly bush on the front and r32 on the rear....
  10. The ko3 turbo is a 3 bolt fixing so I am just trying to find the spacing between bolts to see if they would fit onto the stock exhaust manifold. I have seen on ebay.de the twin turbo manifolds but they are for the r32. I was thinking a pair of ko3s turbos with a short runner intake, water injection and a fmic would give me the power I would want.
  11. I have been looking into this and although it looks tricky it looks like it could be worth a try. I would be looking at getting some smaller turbos as it's more acceleration and mid range than top end I am looking for. Hopefully if I find some turbos with 3 bolt fixings I will trial fit them against my existing manifolds.
  12. Hi all I was offered today by a mate a twin turbo setup fro an rx7 he is breaking....I have not seen the actual turbos but was wondering if they would fit to the vr6 or is the space to tight between the engine and firewall.....I suspect it is a pretty big setup Ryan
  13. Hi all as it says in the title I am looking for the part number or where I can get the slider bolts from the front calipers off an audi s3. I have looked in eurocarparts but can't find them and I would buy a seal kit but they are £25 and I don't need to replace the seals just the pins....Are these them... http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Volkswagen-Golf-Brake-caliper-slider-Pin-H11201-/270920663469?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item3f142141ad#ht_6253wt_1165 They look similar... Cheers Ryan
  14. Hi all I have been looking at upgrading my rear calipers to the mk4/audi alloy ones but they still look tiny against the bigger vented discs. Is there any calipers that are bigger and better or are the audi ones more than enough? ryan
  15. after checking a bit more I have found it doesn't fit as the engine in a passat is mounted longitudinally instead of transverse. oh well I will keep looking
  16. Hi all Does anyone know if the gearbox from a 2000 plate v5 passat will fit onto my 92 plate obd1 2.9l vr6 corrado? I have the chance of one that is cheap but good and I believe it is the better final drive ratio.... Cheers Ryan
  17. cheers for that. Does it not need the header tank? I like the look of the filler cap idea. Just to check is this what you mean..... http://www.nfauto.co.uk/in_line_radiator_filler_neck.htm
  18. Hi all As I am desperate to get my C on the road I require some parts like: Rear ABS sensor rear caliper seal kit Front audi s2 brake caliper seal kit(312mm brakes) Can anyone recommend a decent(cheap) supplier...... cheers ryan
  19. Hi all While my car has been off the road I have managed to bust the radiator and header tank as they have been sitting in my garage. I have been looking on ebay at rads and have noticed the bmw 316 rad has the header tank on the side of it. Does anyone know if I would be able to use that....will it make a difference with the tank being on the side instead of the top at the turret....I can't see any difference as long as I get the pressure for the header caps the same. This would be perfect as I want a smoother engine bay. Ryan
  20. Hi all I am trying to convince my missus to get a new car instead of her battlecruiser(tuned 3.2l v6 merc) as she doesn't really need an estate and I am looking at getting her a v6 4motion.....I have told her it will look good sitting next my vr6 corrado...;-) I plan to go look at a few over the weekend and was just wondering if there was anything I should be on the lookout for? There is a few out there and we have about £3000( I know its not a lot but as a car for my wife I dont really want to spend more than that) and we have seen a lot about £2500 with history that look nice or there is a
  21. a friend of mine bought some mexico wings for his mk1 escort and I have to say I was impressed with them. For being fiber glass wings they were finished to a pretty good standard. They did need some marks removed but it was only minor cosmetics and to be honest he is a bit of a perfectionist when it comes to his escort. I would say for the money and speed of delivery I would definately use them.
  22. hey Jim tried to pm you but it wouldn't let me.....Intrested in the brake setup....what size discs are they...could also do with talking to you about injector sizes and turbo charging
  23. Hi all I have been browsing the forum as I am sure I have found the answer to this before but I can't find it now....I am changing the rear beam on my car at the weekend and I know you can fit bigger brakes on the rear instead of the standard ones so I am looking to do this. I have the 312mm on the front.... I know the phirm do this conversion and I have emailed them but have had no reply...can anyone tell me whats required to do this as a diy conversion... Ryan
  24. I have been looking into it a bit further and to be honest its a bit more complicated than I thought. i was planning to fabricate my own but after reading on vortex I would have to take into account the difference in runner lengths so that the rear bank of cylinder don't run lean. It apparently can be sorted by adjusting the fuelling on the ecu map though. I had planned to keep the lower section and then cut the upper section and fix the new inlet manifold to that.
  25. so its a waste of time really.....I take it if it is fitted to a N/A car then I will lose bottom end torque...I am stuck the now as I have started to collect parts for the conversion but can't decide if I should stay N/A or go charged....The car is going to be used on track and twisty a/b roads with a 3.6fd. The situation the now is do I go and get the spare engine I have lightened and balanced with a flowed head, some cams, six branch manifold or do I stick a nice turbo on it......
