Nero, Sorry about the delay in getting back to you. Appreciate the offer old boy; however, I couldn't get your link to open. Garage has advised me to convert from auto to manual as in theory it could be half the cost. Undecided until I have some cash to do it. The plot thickens!

To Whomever Can Assist, Could you provide me with some advice, as to what I should do with my car? After a trip to my thoroughly reliable garage, chaps told me that despite being able to fix a 'secondary pan gasket' - it looked, in all likelihood, that I would need a new gearbox at some stage. The car drives marginally better after the replacement of this gasket, but I fear a slow decline back into poor health. I was given the details of a specialist who said that it would cost ~£1,200 to rebuild. I cannot feed my family this month. Could I ask your advice? 1) Once I've raised this money by

Chaps, Anyone have a VR6 Highline? I've noticed that everytime I pull away, the car jolts. It is as if I were driving a manual and I had released the clutch too quickly. The problem is most exaggerated when the car is driven from cold, but if I am in it for half an hour it can still happen. A second problem, is the sense that the car is ever so slightly 'in handbrake'. I notice a slight creaking in the rear axle, asif the car momentarily resists being moved, when I reverse into car parking spaces.
