    Love the TH Monos, always have, but the Winter Cults are a hard wheel to beat in my eyes! I'd like to see the Monos in either a dark copper or metallic grey personally

    I'm jealous man, it must be great driving it again! As usual, work is getting in the way with the build lol. On a positive note though, the Corrado I'm breaking has FK Highsport Sport Plus coilovers with adjustable dampening, so they will be replacing my FK AK Streets! Now I just need to get a set of decent 215/40/16 tyres for my 16x7 Beetle Contur alloys, and I should be able to get the car pretty well nicely set up for handling

    I would like to convert the 2.9 to OBD2, but that means replacing the main wiring loom and the servo etc coming out again so I'm definitely not in any hurry for that lol! I just want to get it on the road and drive the thing. After that, I'd like to fit MSD coilpacks, decat pipe and give the engine a good service with new oil, oil filter, plugs, fuel filter, air filter etc

    Yeah that's what I thought! Just don't want to get the engine in, only to find out I need to replace the main loom lol!

    I have already converted my 16v MK3 to OBD1 AAA VR6, unfortunately the engine had bottom end troubles, and with it being a high mileage engine, instead ooth f rebuilding the engine, I have sourced a Corrado VR6 ABV 2.9 to drop in the bay My question is, as they are both OBD1, am I right in thinking I can leave the AAA main wiring loom from the fusebox to the engine bay, and just swap over the 2.9 engine and use the corrados engine wiring loom, and plug the ECU into the main harness instead of the AAA counterpart?

    Hello buddy! Long time no see! Yeah I'm still cracking on with this, I have been taking pics along the way (some you may have seen on FB) but I haven't had the time to upload the pics yet and do a decent update. I think I'm going to wait until the car is MOT'd and then update with a load of pics as proof that it's capable of leaving my yard lol! I look forward to seeing your build thread and what you have done with it! Sorry to hear about your back dude, I have back troubles every now and again, so I can really empathize with you on that front!

    Good luck with the swap dude, I'm in the middle of doing a VR swap on my mk3 at the moment, it started off as a 16v, then OBD1 2.8 and now 2.9 Corrado engine next lol! Anyways, I have loads of spare bits if you need anything

    Sooo, took the VR for MOT at the end of last month, started misfiring on the way, cut out, and when I restarted it, a shed load of blue and white smoke bellowed out Obviously the test was cancelled, as something was seriously wrong. I did a compression test and cylinders 1,2 and 3 were just boardering on 100 PSI and the other three ranged from just under 140 to just under 160 :/ I'm waiting from my leak down tester to arrive so I can investigate further, but I already have a Corrado VR6 donor car lined up anyways
