  1. Good work so far! I passed up on a Mulberry highline a few years ago when I got my first vr6, I have always kicked myself ever since. A Salsa Green Colour Concept and a GTI Anniversary are also on the list
  2. Lovely looking car, great work on the engine
  3. More bits turned up today, so I got them fitted OEM battery cover Engine cover, lead guides and coilpack cover Fitted Bulkhead bungs OEM smoked repeaters to replace the aftermarket clears My wind deflectors turned up, but the guy I bough them off didn't realise he had bought MK5 ones by accident :/ so they are going back. Parts I'm still waiting for are: Aux Belt Longlife Coolant Brake Fluid 7mm Red HT Leads70 Deg ThermostatSilicone Hose KitPowersteering FluidARB to wishbone bolts x2Ball joint Bolts x6Ball joint captive nuts x22.5 inch stainless steel exhaust clampsH
  4. I fully agree dude, I feel exactly the same My VR6 won't be anything special on the paint side, just a fun car for my own personal enjoyment! My MK3 Cab on the other hand will be a completely different story. I look forward to see how you get on with this, A budget (ish) turbo build is right up my street!
  5. Nice yeah that's kinda the deal with me, I'm a painter so all bodywork issues are never a problem, and I'm teaching myself mechanics as I need/want stuff done to my own cars as long as keeping the original inlet isn't too much of a hindrance then I'll do the same!
  6. Around the same to be honest! I definitely can't be arsed to change the loom, not after I have just done the conversion lol I take it you don't need a short runner inlet for what you are aiming for? Any idea if you need to uprate the injectors for what you are aiming for?
  7. What's the reasoning behind converting to OBD2, just for the extra base power from the manifold and throttle body from the OBD1's 172 bhp to the 183 bhp the OBD2 gives you? Will you have to run an aftermarket ecu or can you map the standard ecu?
  8. Great work on this, same colour as my first VR. Wish I had never sold that thing!
  9. I had my eye on a set of Morrette's on a 99p start none reserve with no bids, but the guy pulled the aution before the end of the listing! Yeah, no more parts for mine unless proper bargins pop up
  10. Great work on this bud! Keep it up does Besters make and sell short shift kits? I'm new to the forum, but a short shifter is definitely on the list!
  11. This will be awesome when you have finished dude, I look forward to seeing the progress
  12. When doing a turbo conversion, do you have to change to forged con rods and pistons, change crank etc or just head spacer, exhaust mani and strap the turbo on? If I did go this route I wouldn't be looking for silly power, just a kick in the VR's pants lol!
  13. I love this colour on early VR's, looking good man!
  14. Looking good mate, lovely colour this is
  15. Very cool mate, I'd love a mk2 VR at some point and Oak Green is a classic colour, especially when its nice and fresh
  16. Good work so far dude! Everyone on here building VRT's ain't helping my build stay cheap and cheerful lol!
  17. Always the way now the VR is nearly on the road, I have to stop myself from buying more parts for it, as everything's supposed to be being spent on the Cab lol!
  18. The wings off the donor got sold off :)they must have been replaced at some point, because the rest of the car is rotten as a pear lol!
  19. Can't really see the mk3 putting up much of a fight to be honest lol!
  20. This things lovely man, I'm jealous of your RS's and all reds big time!
